HAL Light Observation Helicopter News & Discussions

The HAL Light Observation Helicopter (LOH) is under development by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited of India. The 3-tonne single engine light helicopter for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force will replace the fleet of Cheetah and Chetak helicopters. The project is in preliminary stages and is in the design phase. The project will be completed within next 5-6 years.[1] The Indian military have a requirement for 384 helicopters of which 187 helicopters will be built by HAL.

Its just the same. Air Force version of the aircraft would be called Light Utility Helicopter while for the Army it would be known as Light Observation Helicopter.
