How much Foreign companies earn from Pakistan?

Hi,
I will need help from members in compiling a databse about how much foreign companies actually earn from Pakistan?
Nestle, walls, shell, and many more are doing big business in Pakistan..
Exactly how much these and other corporate giants take out of the country?

Its depend on how much money pakistan government allow to take out of the country. In India, a foreign firm can take out 20% of his revenue and rest invest in INDIA.

and what they make? Mineral water? Powder milk?

Things that Pakistani companies can make easily..

a complete fail of government Policy..they let in Corporate giants from far flung lands who suffocate local companies....

If it was an aircraft engine manufacturing company..Computer chip maker then fine..thats something nobody in Pakistan can do.

If Pakistani companies made milk and mineral water all people would die from diseases and children would suffer food poisoning..because we cannot do anything correctly and sincerely we are dependent on these corporate giants to provide basic things at a massive cost to economy.

this is 2-3 year old figure.

add up foreign companies (dont know how many)

we if can count them and check their income statements, we may get a figure.

Japanese companies are earning in billions, Chinese companies are earning in billions, Arabs earn from oil and gas exports, European items are very successful, military wise US, North American and Chinese earnings in billions of dollars from Pakistan.

This is an interesting topic. In fact this the crux of the problem.... world at large is facing the same issue in fact. Almost exactly like the opium wars with China.... all countries are markets ... some know it others ignore at their own peril. Simple idiotic daily life things such as soaps, shampoos and toothpastes are controlled by some multinational conglomerates. While these thing canbe manufactured at local level keeping wealth in the community. But these companies siphon off local wealth and resources and redistribute wealth. Keeping people deprived and no one even realizes this theft by stealth!

fcuk corporations like nestle they attracted to corrupt leadership.

all food corporations must be thrown out it is destroying local produce.

We have plenty of oversea paks to do honest work in the high tech area.
We need to follow turkey they are now recruiting German turks in the homegrown industries. but i suppose Pakistani corruption and jealousy doesn't allow it.

In Lahore city, biggest software IT services companies earning great profits, international brands, electronics stores, shops like Minoso are earning big money in Pakistan.

If domestic companies can manage these, why aren't they doing it? I'll tell you. its because the local population is incompetant. those who can do it, go outside of Pakistan to do it because they know they can do it better abroad. Who want all the hassles of mullahs ?
Heard of the juice manufacturer who was shutdown recently by the punjab health? because he was using "rotten amroodh" he wasnt selling amrood was he?he was selling juice in which it doesnt matter what sort of amrood you use.

Nobody trusts local companies to be honest and transparent... So they vote through their pockets for foreign companies.

The trust deficit is based on corrupt practices of Pakistani companies through poor product quality and sometimes outright fraud.

We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Nonsense! You think Japanese companies always made top notch products? What about South Korean products? And now even Chinese? Why... because eventhough these countries made junk which people in Europe and U.S. once purchased only because it was cheap today these countries produce top notch products only because over the years the industry has matured and come either on par or in instances exceeded their western counterparts. You will have to bare the pain of buying low end to have your industry grow on par with the rest ... can't expect to buy good quality foreign products and lament local ... at the detriment of your own future.

What trust? Just google the corporate greed and corruption by these companies in each and every country. The most recent examples being Toshiba cooking books and hiding deficits for years, Volkswagen cheating consumers and enforcement alike, Hyundai and Samsung in Korea bribing auditors... check out every country and these are too many to count. Not to mention the effects on local legislation by these major corporations to make profits at the detriment of people... who are you kidding... just because it is away from your eyes it is away from your mind.

You are barking up the wrong tree... I'm talking about general public perceptions about foreign companies versus local ones.

Example, Nestle sells water and so does your local Babaji Water co. People would pay extra for Nestle because they believe that the Nestle is offering them pure water and quality water versus the Babaji Co. It's not me... It's the common consumer's perceptions.
