  • PTI chief continues tirade against ex-army chief.
  • Imran predicts polls in March or April.
  • He vows to remain allies with PML-Q.
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that former chief of army staff General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa had "struck" a deal with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Imran made the revelation in conversation with journalists on Saturday as he continued the tirade against the former army chief, whom he blames now for his government's ouster.

The PTI chief recently admitted that granting an extension to Gen (retd) Bajwa was a "mistake" and had also accused the ex-army chief of "betraying" him. Also, in a conversation with journalists yesterday, he revealed that he was not in contact with the establishment “for now”.

As the PTI presses the government on holding snap polls across the country, Imran predicted that he sees elections taking place in either March or April.

He also added that PTI's members of the National Assembly would appear before Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf to confirm their resignations on Monday (December 26).

The government, however, has repeatedly ruled out holding early elections citing several reasons, including floods, and said they might take place in October 2023.

"We will also remain allies with the Q-League (Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid) as they have stood by us," the PTI chief said as the political turmoil in Punjab persists.

"I will not inflict pain on the masses for remaining in power. Once I form my government again, I will not compromise on anything," the PTI chief said.

Taking a swipe at Minister for Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, he said that the Bhutto scion has gone on more visits abroad than he did during his three-and-a-half-years in tenure.

"Also, if he is claiming that he is paying for foreign trips through his pocket, then are these his private visits?" he wondered.

He berated the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for getting "foreign funds" and "not having" receipts for them. "We have a database of 40,000 donors."

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday leveled fresh allegations against former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa and claimed the retired general had 'made a deal' with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

Talking to senior journalists in Lahore, the former prime minister said that during the past year, he found out that Gen (retd) Bajwa 'does not want accountability'.

The PTI chief further claimed that the former army chief probably thought that PTI's popularity would see a decline "but that did not happen", adding that if a “right army chief” was present, his government would have “cleaned” the country.

While predicting that elections will be held in March or April of the coming year, the former premier said that they are making an alliance with Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) because they have supported PTI.

“I will not hurt people's trust for the sake of power and will not make any compromise the hope of the people to come into the government,” added the PTI chief.

Talking about party funding, he alleged that PPP and PML-N have no receipt of funding, while the PTI has a database of 40,000 donors.

Earlier this week, the PTI chief had said Gen(retd) Bajwa was “solely responsible for the country’s prevailing political and economic crises” — including his ouster from power in April this year.

Speaking to foreign correspondents at his Zaman Park residence in Lahore, the former premier alleged that Gen (retd) Bajwa was controlling the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He claimed that the former army chief granted NRO — relief in corruption cases — to the incumbent rulers despite his opposition.

The ex-PM claimed that initially, Gen (retd) Bajwa did not oppose his anti-corruption drive to hold culprits accountable “but eventually asked me to focus on the economy and to move away from accountability”.

And people of Pakistan pay with an arm and a leg for these greedy, selfish bastards

U-turn is their middle name. It is genetic. U-turn and dharna are their favourite time pass.

As I say often, let us wait and see. Fushtavaal Elections, then the results, then the policies. In that order. What is the rush?

At least he is not warming up his pockets, filling up off shore accounts and buying properties abroad from the stolen money. Some people can only laugh because they have got nothing to offer other then the lip service.

Who bring PPP zardari crimenals political terrorist mafia in Karachi for the distraction of this City as well as the distruction of Pakistan's biggest economical backbone...

These words of Khan hitting the khasi tutaas of GHQ generals like bullets

Well, PTI might not be exception either. We are learning more about it after Imran Khan was disqualified. We only learn about the corruption after the government is either disqualified or completed the term.

We all know khan choice of political leader concerning the governing affairs of Punjab that wasn't exactly to the expectation of Riyast-e-Madinah.

Khan sahib na sab ko nanga kar dia ...... that is the major reason, non Pakistani abroad is investing money or sending money to Pakistan. Especially sending money in the presence of PDM. Expats had great hopes from the establishment, but.......................

Imran can only do what he can and parameters he can work under. When Shahbaz can become PM of a country the day he was meant to be convicted and then all cases are dropped like leaves that tells a lot about our country governance.
When all government machinery is used to find faults and to invent make belief faults then every one is guilty other then the culprits themselves.
Am surprised every one wants to live in the Riyast-e-Madina but kartoots are of Furoons and common thieves. Riyast-e-Madina is only possible when all the society works towards the same goal and welfare of the society. When he was opening the lungar khana's for the poor rest of the society was filling their socks with not paying taxes and taking bribes. Lower your expectations and Imran can only do so much and as long as his heart is at the right place country will benefit.
