Indian Army to soon have Russian T-90 tanks with ‘Make in India’ element as threat from Pakistan loo

In fact india's military is more powerful and advanced than that of america, China or Russia. They could easily detect (using red dot head detectors) and destroy all Pakistan airforce planes and navy ships and tanks. india could easily occupy all of eastern Pakistan within 7 hours with minimal losses. Pakistan's nukes will all be shoot down by super advanced and powerful indian abm system. A very easy war and invasion for india.

Indian Army is interested in purchasing the latest version of T-90 tanks equipped with thermal imaging night vision cameras and some additional countermeasures to significantly reduce the chances of being hit by enemy anti-tank semi-automatic guided weapons. The Indian Army has submitted a proposal seeking final approval of the Defense Acquisition Council, the decision-making body for all India’s defense deals.

Major General R K Arora (retired), Chief Editor of Indian Military Review, says, “We have still not finalized what our future battle tank will be like. Secondly, the development of the Arjun Mark 2 is taking more time; so there is a gap between now and may be 5 years or so before the development of future main battle tank takes place. So, it is a stopgap measure that we are going to buy more T-90 tanks. We may have 800 or so T-90 tanks just now. Now the government is planning to buy 460 more that will make it about 1,300 T-90 tanks in the fleet.”

Indian Army had put the T-90 on a list of products that domestic industry could help design and manufacture under the Army Design Bureau. The T-90 is already being assembled at Heavy Vehicle Factory (HVF), Avadi in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The factory also produces T-72 tanks. It is not clear if the additional T-90 tanks will be produced by HVF or if the opportunity will be thrown open to the private sector.

Currently, India has about 13 regiments of T-90 that could go up to 21 regiments by 2020. One regiment consists of 62 tanks.

And all you have is a identical UCAV..

Going by your failed logic.. your failed toy aka rustom is also a copy of CH

Lmao, I can tell the difference between CH/AR-2 and Rustom/Helina. Both are modeled off of a light, manned American plane. Your thing is the same exact thing, right down to the teardrop fairings.

The Ladakh region is lined with plains in between the mountain ranges and the mechanised units add a major punch to the increased boots on the ground. India has already deployed tanks in Sikkim.

two regiments of T-72 tanks have been deployed — the first in 2014 and another late last year. A third regiment will be moved in soon, forming a full brigade.

We need Many more T 90 tanks ; atleast a total of 3000

By 2020, India would have a total of 2,011 T-90 tanks working out to about 40 armoured regiments. There are also six additional regiments being raised for high-altitude conditions.

The Indian Army is upgrading about 1,600 T-72 tanks with night vision devices and the rest would comprise indigenous Arjun tank which is heavier than the T-90 and has a 120mm gun which fires APFSDS, HEAT, High Explosive (HE) and High Explosive Squash Head (HESH).

118 Arjun Mk-2 tanks, The tank developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is an upgraded version of the Mk-1 variant, 119 of which have been inducted in the army.

BMP-2 is the Indian Army’s main APC which has excellent mobility and is equipped with a 30 mm cannon and fires the ‘Konkurs’ missile which has a range of 4 Km. Further it has two thermo-baric missiles which range up to 6 Km. A decision has been taken to upgrade 1,600 BMP-2s with a 350 Horse Power (HP) engine.

The Indian Army currently also has 700 BMP-1 in active service. While we have covered few of the Anti Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), an important ATGM in service is Milan. Milan is a wire-guided ‘Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight (SACLOS) missile, which means the sight of the launch unit has to be aimed at the target to guide the missile.

UK military threatened & amazed by Russia’s ‘revolutionary’ Armata tank – leak

Pilot batch: Russian military get first T-14 Armata tanks
Armata is faster, lighter, and has a lower profile than modern Western tanks, while boasting a breakthrough turret design that gives its crew much better protection while under fire, the document stressed.

“For the first time, a fully automated, digitized, unmanned turret has been incorporated into a main battle tank. And for the first time, a tank crew is embedded within an armored capsule in the hull front,” it said.

UK intelligence suggested that the tank will be equipped with the same state-of-the-art radar system currently employed on Russian fighter jets, as well as new composite armor.Armada also has a “reported higher muzzle velocity” gun, with the possibility of an upgraded missile system, the paper added.

“As a complete package, Armata certainly deserves its billing as the most revolutionary tank in a generation,” the author of the internal report wrote, adding that, “unsurprisingly, the tank has caused a sensation.”

The document reported that Moscow is bringing “six additional armored vehicles to the stable,” including heavy infantry fighting vehicles and self-propelled artillery systems.

It also expresses concern over the Russian military’s relatively large number of tanks, with the country planning to produce 120 Armatas annually from 2018.Russia already has 2,500 tanks in service, with a reserve of 12,500, which is “35 times the size of the fleet in the British Army,” the paper said.

“With such numbers, decisive effect is credibly achievable and losses are less important,” it explained.

With Britain having only 227 Challenger 2 main battle tanks dating from 1998, the author of the report wondered: “Are we on the cusp of a new technological arms race? Has an understandable focus on defeating the single threat of IEDs distracted Western military vehicle designers?”

Why we are investing in t90,when better option like armata available, that too in same class.

LOL where is worlds best tank aka Arjun White elephant??

Itis in making and new version shall keep coming. First we produced 124 MK1 by that time Mk2 got ready with 83 improvements. we ordered that too. By the time it comes a light weight version is planned with 5 to 6 ton low weight. Why would we order something which is our own.

ndia is the only country in this world who order new version of home made defense products without inducting earlier which already proved a failure.

DO you know that Hundreds of F 35 is ordered and produced even before FOC? So stop your trollong and relax. Be educated in subject before exposing yourself.

464 more Russian T-90s? What happened to Arjun MK2 program?
Arjun mk2 are heavy weight tank and T-90s are medium weight category.

perhaps you should research a bit while you are not racially abusing Pakistanis on this forum :)

Just because Arjun Mk2 weights 68T, doesn't mean it is in a category of its own. They are both MBTs. The post #3 in the below link by your own countryman may help you to understand why India is continually buying T-90s. It has nothing to do with Pakistan. You are really sick and need to see a shrink, if you have to bring up Pakistan every time you reply to my post. :partay:
