Indian PM & Chinese PM - Back-to-back visits to boost India-China ties

@Chinese-Dragon They found a new statue of Lord Buddha at bamiyan itself, untouched and not yet fully excavated, in a a pose representing Lord Buddha's Parinirvana. I hope that no one actually excavates it fully, as long as its buried at least the Taliban will not get to it.

In response to the destruction of the Buddha statues in Afghanistan, we built the largest statue in the world in Henan province:

You should visit India and our Ajanta caves in Maharashtra. Breath taking Buddhist sculptures and paintings.

At least we preserve our history, yes even in India we have had sad incidents of vandalism and outright destruction but to go and shell something so priceless with artillery! And we are the one's who are the "unbelievers" hunh?

Long live Indo-China friendship...............

But Yes if India is to grow we need best of both worlds east as well as west..............

nice to see chinese not bullying over indians on this thread

Plato - true friendship can exist only between equals.

With China being larger than India, in almost all respects, and with overlapping spheres of influence, India would do well to not be swayed away by lip-service offered by Beijing.

These guys are inbred with hatred against China. This sort of positive news shocks them into paralysis. Usually speechless.

yet you see majority , if not all Indians in this thread agreeing with @Chinese-Dragon for more CBM's and normallising relations between India and China .Plus there is talk about taking Sino-Indian ties to "a higher level".

PS : Nice try to create rift.

LOL, 300 views and not even 1 comment from anyone besides me.

I guess people are more interested in threads about the Indian media complaining that "The Chinese leaders forgot to mention India in one event" which apparently is the end of the Earth.

indian media is obsessed with slating china, just like the west. chinese media doesn't show india in as much of a bad light as india does to china.

Mate, don't take the opinion of Indian media as the Opinion of common Indian.

Many Indian Media channels are having partnerships with Western Media & you very well know what there motive is.

A common Indian wants peace & immediate solution to all issues b/w these two rising powers of Asia.

Don't troll, India TV is the state sponsored media, and depicts the real picture of Indian and International affairs. :coffee:

So here, the new Chinese leadership (Xi-Li Administration) wants to take Sino-Indian ties to "a higher level".

India will reject this of course, due to the threatening perception of China in the Indian media. Congress doesn't want to lose votes, etc.

However, the offer was made. And that is the important thing, maybe someone will remember it later.

You have to understand indian point of view
- we fought a war. even 50 years ago the way it was started isn't a pleasant memory
- China still arm Pakistan which is most likely to be used against India
- we have a unsolved border dispute.
- Chinese policy change make it hard to trust that china wants to settle things on table.
- First you start some good exchange and and the last minute you cancel a visa to Govt official/ army personal for disputed reasons. Even if you think the reasons were right that's not the way relations develop

If you think India should react more positively to Chinese offers
- India do have a feeling of betrayal so will proceed with caution
- China is bigger and powerful than India so it should not worry and come more fourth and do something which India will trust.
And as far as Indian governments are concerned foreign policy remain same irrespective of Party politics line.
