What three programmes ur talking about please let me know. I only know about this and the one by ISRO.

BRAHMOS Hypersonic
Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle(HSDTV)
Shaurya Hypersonic missile

But Shaurya has already been developed, its not a work in progress.

Actually..4 programs are running simultaneously..

BRAHMOS-2
HSTDV by DRDO
SHAURYA by DRDO
and a separate program by ISRO...

In fact HSTDV will be eventually developed into a hypersonic vehicle which can deliver payloads and return back..however that is in distant future...

So there are two types of engines underdevelopment for hypersonic vehicles! Hypersonic vehicle needs high end technology specially when it is a cruise missile. It needs cutting edge technologies on propulsion, metallurgy, aerodynamics and control systems.

The pic in the article is of HSTDV not Brahmos-2. ISRO also has its own hypersonic programmes for re-usable launch vehicles.

it only makes sense if it has a min 1000 km range and is canistered ( preferable sub launched as well

when the program will complected...and what will it's range..

Brahmos-2? They have already started lab tests of the propulsion system. Expected to be complete by 2015/16.

Range is not mentioned anywhere.

Brahmos -2
I believe the range cannot go beyond 500 KM because international arms restrictions - MTCR restrictions ( Since its a JV )
