highly unstable, because the reason of growth was mainly the software/services industry which entirely depends on whether or how much contracts western companies will send to bangalore or poona or gurgaon or madras or hyderabad.

in 2014 december/november, 35,000+ employees of tcs company ( one of "top" five it companies in india ) were removed without notice or justification within a few days... tcs plan was to remove a few tens of thousands more... this became a big issue... real reason was that tcs doesn't have much money to pay salaries.

i can't say about mass-murder but i always wanted to become a bond villain. :D
these guys are doing it for fun not for a living.

How come there are more men in India?

1. female infanticide mostly, along with other cultural anti-female crimes ( "honor" killings, dowry murders, suicides ).

in the 80's the american government began giving the indian government ultrasound machines... stupid move... in turn, these machines were supplied in increasing numbers by the main indian government medical institute, aiims, to indian clinics in cities and towns... the traditional female foeticide now was made easier by checking for female child in womb itself and then getting the doctor to abort the female child.

from ( 100 million ‘missing’ girls - The Boston Globe )...
IN INDIA each year, it is estimated that as many as a million baby girls are aborted by parents determined not to raise a daughter. Those unborn girls are the victims of a fierce cultural preference for boys — and of modern imaging technology that makes it easy to learn the sex of a baby in the womb. Ultrasound scans started becoming widely available in India in the 1980s; since then, an estimated 10 million female babies have been destroyed during pregnancy.

2. preference for more than one male child, who may be born by aborting female child or through natural chance... so, two brothers or three brothers.

Can they change this attitude towards women? I know it will a very long time, but can it be done?

Can they change this attitude towards women? I know it will a very long time, but can it be done?

can be, but only when there is a progressive national government, ideally a socialist government.

1. the current government is headed by bjp party which is a component in the hindu right-wing rss movement and certain groups within rss are those like "ram sena" and "bajrang dal" and these groups until recently and still do "moral policing", meaning physically attacking ladies who wear jeans or sleeveless tops or are seen in cafes sitting with men or going in buses with men... this especially happens in the south indian city of mangalore... these groups operate openly and derive their support from a large section of the masses because the masses think of the groups as upholding "indian values"... also, some of these groups are composed of females ( like "durga vahini" or have female presence ( like abvp )... "the worst enemy of a female is another female".

2. most serials on indian tv are family dramas which depict moralistic and traditional-leaning stories where the daughter-in-law holds the family together by sacrificing her comforts and likings so that the "elders" and the children are happy, and she thus becomes the ideal wife and daughter-in-law... in many of these serials, there are other females who are the evils ones and are generally shown as being "non-traditional" and "non-virtuous".

3. one other failure, though it was through a well-meaning thing, was the national tv channel about twenty years ago, used to broadcast "pro female" ads which had fathers saying about their daughter "she is not a daughter, i consider her to be my son"... so there is in india a denying of female presence and over time it led to other side effect.

4. indian establishment spends more on military build-up every year than on human development.

until these things are criticized furiously again and again, things will not change.

@Black Alloy i must sleep now... post your question or points if you have and i will answer them tomorrow.

Indian image is very good in the world...that's make India beautiful.....rest of the things are secondary....

Let us be honest...You can describe India nor any other nation in one word....Can you describe any nation in one word...In most of the major developing nations, there is good and bad things too...Same happens for India..NOw it depends on the people how they would like to see the things...

For pessimistic people, of course India is place of filth..And it is true to certain extent if you would like to visit the areas which are dirty..But for people who would like to see the good, there are good places too..Now it is an individual choice, what they would like to see..

To bring balance to my other thread "Is India a dirty country" this new thread ask the question is India a beautiful country? In fact a lot of people say yes it is a gorgeous country, with landscapes for everyone, from gorgeous beaches, mountains, plains, and deserts .

Some of the great religions on the world were born in India, it's truly a secular society and millions live in peace and harmony.

It has something for everyone, the culture many people say is beautiful as well, and there is a photo opportunity for everyone.

So the question is India a beautiful country? Please no trolling or flame baiting.

Feel free to check these threads, you won't need to ask anyone.

India and China has pretty much the same population, only China has 3 time more Land. ........... does that affect "Natural Heritage" ? :coffee:

India was attacked by Islamic barbarians who's sole purpose was to destroy architecture, destroy universities and destroy Indian way of life. This was followed by Christian british barbarians who's sole purpose was to exploit and steal. This happend for a 1000 years.

Do you think that affected "Heritage sites" ? :coffee:
