Dion Bisara

Also, Rusmin pointed out that foreign property markets tend to concentrate in areas with a lot of jobs for them or in tourist destinations.

"The market consists of two segments. First, expatriates who are already working here... In Jabotabek (Greater Jakarta), there's a potential income of Rp 20 trillion [$1.3 billion] in the foreigners market," he said. The second segment is the tourist destinations: "Bali, Lombok, Batam... will experience a boom because people can now buy properties."

Work to construct Karian Banten Dam is 90-percent complete: Minister

9th June 2023

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono stated that the progress in the construction of the Karian Multifunction Dam, located in Pasir Tanjung Village, Rangkasbitung Sub-district, Lebak District, Banten Province, has reached 90.22 percent.

"Please really make the work more detailed. This is just a matter of the final touches of the whole work. You can take the example of Ciawi Dam, for which the same thing is being done, so it really all depends on the supervision," Hadimuljono noted in a statement in Jakarta, Friday.

The minister advised to increase supervision over the construction work so as to ensure best quality once the Karian Dam is complete.

Moreover, Hadimuljono called to continue to make improvements in the dam's construction during the final stage of this work, especially the riprap made of round stones to prevent seepage and maintain the structure's strength.

"Keep an eye on the installation of riprap in detail, closer, not from afar. Use a water pass to make it neat," he stressed.

Hadimuljono targets the Karian Dam in Banten to be impounded in September 2023.

He urged that after the work to construct the Karian Dam is complete, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) will be prepared to serve as a reference for operations to optimize benefits derived from the dam.

Karian Dam has a capacity of 314 million m3 and a maximum inundation area of 1,740 hectares that can be used to increase the need for supply to the Ciujung Irrigation Area spanning 22 thousand hectares.

Apart from irrigation, the Karian Dam has the main function to supply water for meeting household and industrial needs of nine cities and districts in Jakarta and Banten reaching 14.6 m3/second, with 1.5 m3/second for Serang City, Serang District, and Cilegon City, and 0.6 m3/second for the sub-districts of Rangkasbitung and Maja in Lebak.

The dam will meet the water requirement of 0.2 m3/second for Parung Panjang Sub-district in Bogor District, 3.6 m3/second for Tangerang District, 2.0 m3/second for Tangerang City, 1.8 m3/second for South Tangerang City, and 4.2 m3/second for West Jakarta City.

The construction of Karian Dam began in October 2015, with a budget of Rp1.3 trillion, and was carried out by the contractor Daelim Industrial Co, LTD-PT. Wijaya Karya (Persero)-PT. Waskita Karya (Persero) Joint Operation.

This dam also has the potential to become a water tourism destination in Lebak District and to generate 1.8 megawatts of electricity through a Mini Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH).

Hooray! 350 Thousand New Connections of Clean Water Pipes Will Be Installed in Jakarta in 2 Years

Husen Miftahudin • February 21, 2023 13:39 PM

Jakarta: The Jakarta region will install 350 thousand new connections of clean water pipes in the next two years. This is to prevent the sinking of Jakarta due to the massive use of groundwater.

The new connection of the clean water pipe will be carried out by PT Moya Indonesia's subsidiary, PT Air Bersih Jakarta. The company has just received syndicated funds from a banking consortium worth IDR 8.87 trillion for the first phase.

The consortium of banks that distributed the syndicated funds to PT Air Bersih Jakarta were BCA, OCBC, OCBC NISP, BTN, Bank BTPN, PT SMI, and KB Bukopin.

CEO of Moya Indonesia Holdings Pte Ltd Mohamad Selim said, in two years it is targeted to build a pipeline connection in DKI Jakarta along 2,500 kilometers.

During the same period, 350 thousand new connections are targeted for houses in Jakarta. He ensured that the construction would not disturb the community

: "A total of 350,2030 first-phase houses over two years. The total will be 1.095 million until 21 (new connections of clean water pipes in Jakarta)," Selim said in a written statement, Tuesday, February 2023, <>.

He explained again that the development of clean water infrastructure will be carried out by PT Air Bersih Jakarta. Meanwhile, its operations will still be carried out by PAM Jaya, which is a Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) under the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

April began construction of clean water infrastructure

President Director of PT Air Bersih Jakarta Lafrik Bano Rangkuty explained, after signing, his party in April will be able to start development projects. The project was built for the Jatiluhur downstream and Buaran tiga clean water pipelines.

"The completion is different, there are two years, there are five years. Including network development," he explained.

Prevent land subsidence

On the other hand, Director of PT Bank BCA Antonius Widodo Mulyono added, from Rp8.87 trillion, his party distributed around Rp2.5 trillion. In this case, BCA is the lead in syndicating project loans.

"This project is very strategic, because anyone in this country, more specifically in DKI Province, all residents need quality clean water. In addition to providing better water quality, it can help prevent land subsidence," he said.

On the same occasion, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said, Jakarta sinks 12 to 18 centimeters every year due to excessive groundwater use.

However, the government cannot prohibit the use of groundwater by the community. Therefore, the government will fully support the construction of clean water pipes as an alternative to the use of clean water in Indonesia.

"The DKI government or the central government cannot prohibit it, unless it can supply clean water. If everything can be completed and can supply Jakarta water, then we can stop groundwater use in 2030," concluded Basuki.

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the government would change Jakarta's status from 'Special Capital Region' to 'Special Jakarta Region' (DKJ).

This plan is contained in the Jakarta Special Region Bill, in line with the mandate of Law no. 3/2022 concerning the National Capital, which requires replacing Law no. 29/2007 concerning the Provincial Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta as the Capital of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

"The transfer of the National Capital based on the IKN Law changes Jakarta's status from 'Special Capital Region' to 'Special Region of Jakarta'," she said in a post on the Instagram account @smindrawati, quoted Thursday (14/9/2023 ).

Sri Mulyani explained that the DKJ Bill would promote the concept of the Special Region of Jakarta becoming a global city and the largest economic center in Indonesia.

In this case, according to her, there are many aspects of state finances that need to be regulated in the DKJ Bill. "The other Ministers reported on the preparation and substance of the DKJ Bill and discussed obtaining direction from President @jokowi and Vice President @kyai_marufamin," said Sri Mulyani.
