JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Block 1-2 total production 112. The one in picture is 109(block 2 no. 59) while 2 have been lost

So march is date when PAF starts accepting them. So prototype might be visible soon for block 3

Cost is such a big issue that even the thunder program is suffering ...pretty much answers the question about PAF procurement roadmap..
There has been only 1 attrition loss for JF17s

Commission formed to investigate reasons behind the crash of the JF-17 jet earlier this week; the pilot remained safe

ISLAMABAD: A commission has been formed to investigate why a Pakistani JF-17 Thunder jet crashed into the Arabian Sea earlier this week, Geo News has learnt.

According to sources, the incident took place after pilot took off on a routine exercise flight from the Masroor Airbase in Karachi on Tuesday, September 27.

The pilot, however, stayed unhurt after he skillfully managed to eject before the aircraft crashed into water.

Sources say the commission will investigate the reasons behind the crash of the aircraft and will submit its findings which will become part of the Pakistan Air Force records.

There was no official release but the news was well reported and even saw it in some international journals

That's the issue. Why no official clarification and if there was no loss then all the more importantly, why was there no refutation?

2018 and 2019 mostly covers I think Myanmar [emoji1175] 12 and 3 for Nigeria and 12 for paf with block 3 starting somewhere towards the end of this year

Assuming current production capacity between 16-20 and not full 24-25

Not sure if Azeri orders are confirmed or not

The radar is the world's first air-cooled two-dimensional active phased array fire control radar. It uses high-efficiency air-cooling technology to successfully solve the problem that the conventional PD radar fighter cannot directly upgrade the active phased array radar.

One of the two new types of radars currently provided by China is the KLJ-7A radar of the Nanjing Research Institute of China National Electric Power Group. The radar also has two cooling modes: liquid cooling and air cooling.

The advantage of the active phased array radar using air cooling is that the size is much smaller than that of the same type of radar with the same performance. It can be installed on the head of the JF17 fighter, which further enhances the performance of the fighter.

Older aesa generated lot of heat so liquid cooling was the only option perhaps tech evolved so air cooling now is enough
