O man :woot: is it buy one get her free ?

I agree with you Bro, we should have our own Defence Manufacturing capability. If European nations can cooperate to build their own warplanes and ships, why can't we Muslims do the same.

Well said bro.

Bro. don't make your decision very quick... Maybe there are some other options !!

I understand bro. Turkiye is lack also. It could be very nice if Turkiye, Indonesia, Malaysia and Pakistan are working on this together. Merging our power to produce for own engine could be really nice.
I think it is lack of experience than money, and it takes time to build of expertise.

Most of the ships and weaponary you see is paid for by Australia.

Your special forces is Australian trained and equiped. Most of the officers of the army are Australian trained.

Just recently Australia donated 3 patrol boats, similar to he ones in the pictures

Again Indonesia Hold Overall Winner in AASAM 2011 (Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting)

was held on December 6 to 22 May 2011 in the Combined Arms Training Center, Headquarters Australian Army, at Puckapunyal, Victoria, Australia.

This international competition was joined by several countries such as Indonesia, Netherlands, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, Canada, France, New Zealand, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and the United States.

In the final round of competition, Malaysia became the strongest opponent of Indonesia, but the First Sergeant Poltak Siahaan and Corporal Two Woli Hamsan won seven gold medals, 9 silver medals and 5 bronze medals by which Indonesia outperformed participants from other countries. Even the Indonesian participants get praise from several other participating countries as claimed by the participants from the Netherlands, “Good score! Indonesia have the best score than the other countries.”

This year the Army was challenged to not use gun ST1. Yet not a difficulty for the Indonesian Army. Armed with a pistol type of Browning’s Australia though, Indonesia is still superior in this category. One participant from Australia said: “It’s not about the gun, but it’s all about the man behind the gun.” This shows the quality of the Indonesian Army sniper.

This annual competition not only provided useful experience for the Indonesian Army, but also provided an opportunity for the team to measure the ability of teams from other countries, as expressed by Woli, winner of the competition in the individual category in 2009 and this year.

Colonel Geoff Stacey, which is one of Australia’s finest shooters also praised the team from Indonesia, “We all have done very well but Indonesia have done the best out of all. They’ve done very well in the competition and they are very professional.”

Australia has sent an official to the Indonesian province of Maluku to investigate claims that Indonesia's elite counter-terrorism unit, Detachment 88, which receives millions of dollars from Australia each year, brutalised a group of separatists last month, repeatedly beating them in detention.

Detachment 88′s major facility at the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Co-operation was established in 2004 with almost $40 million of Australian funding. According to its website, most of the counter-terrorism seminars at the Centre are run by the AFP (Australain Federal Police) and according to The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade 2009/10 annual report, it is a major beneficiary of $16.3 million in annual funding allocated to the AFP to combat terrorism in south-east Asia.

another pAussie ruining indonesia related thread :disagree:

xdrive, do not ruin the thread. Australia is not a very important country for Indonesia's economy or military, and Australia's defence industry is nothing to write home about. Discuss these issues in another thread, on this thread, write relevant issues.
