Nawaz seeks a ‘VVIP plane’ to attend SAARC Summit: Report

Actually your own link says that it cannot handle A380

Currently, the airport is able to handle eleven wide body aircraft at one time, with additional five parking places for general aviation aircraft and it has not the capacity to take off and landing of such aircraft asAirbus A380 or Boeing 747-8.

SAARC summits are crap outs. Better for India to either concentrate bilaterally or make small regional groups.

my mistake sorry

What difference does it make which aircraft he travels in ?

This is a nation that is teetering on the edge of economic collapse and surviving on IMF bailouts. How does it not make a difference how our King, I mean Prime Minister, is spending the tax payers money?

Not sure of the exact 310 model, but Aircraft comparison: Airbus A310-300 vs. Boeing 777-200ER | aviatorjoe.net
The 777 is roughly 50% bigger.

So, i'm trying to make sense of this. No offense please, correct me gently!
1) Pakistan has a Prime Minister who needs to travel.
2) The PAF operates an A310 for this purpose.
3) The current Prime Minister has determined he needs to travel.
4) He has asked the national airline (PIA) to provide an aircraft for this travel, in spite of PAF having another craft on standby.

Q: Is the A310 out-of-service? Is the proposed travel beyond the single-hop capability of the A310? Is the A310 too small?

Q: Does he expect PIA to reconfigure the seating on the 777 he is asking for (for better comfort) or is he content with the current seating arrangement? Does he intend this to be a permanent arrangement?

This seems very odd.

This thread implies the 777s are significantly nicer. PIA - Airbus A310 Any one with experience?

Sharif does not trust Pakistan military. They would be happy to get rid of him.

Nawaz seeks a ‘VVIP plane’ to attend SAARC Summit: Report

Islamabad- Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif has asked the PIA for a ‘VVIP Boeing-777 aircraft’ instead of going through his own plane, to participate in the SAARC Summit in Khatmandu.
A private TV channel has claimed that the prime minister asked the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to provide a Boeing-777 aircraft for carrying him and other cabinet members to Khatmandu, for participating in the SAARC Conference on November 25.
Sources told that the PM Secretariat wrote a confidential and immediate note to the PIA administration, directing it to arrange a VVIP Boeing-777 aircraft for PM Nawaz Sharif and send it to Islamabad.
The national airliner is already short of many passenger planes, while in case of arranging another plane for the premier will cost it losses worth of several crore rupees per day, hundreds of thousands of fuel is apart. Moreover, the PM Secretariat also directed for keeping an Airbus 320 aircraft on stand-by for the PM, the channel said.

I think in Pak, money become more matter than the life of the Prime Minister.

Ah! People are not happy about it.
Moreover, he stayed in 5 star property in Sg which could cost 500 SGD + per day.
Who paid for it? If he paid himself, that's ok. $400 US is not that unreasonable for a major city, though that should get you pretty nice accomodations.

Las Vegas can run $40,000 US per night, if you are really looking to waste money. The Most Expensive Suites at Vegas’s Top Hotels - Condé Nast Traveler

Big cities are just expensive. A casual search found rooms there for $263/night, in a 4 star hotel. Thats $341 in Singapore dollars. So, I wouldn't think it is really outlandish for a head of state to spend $400US per night on a room.

our PM who rigged election to become PM, Mr Nawaz lived in a hotel costing more than 8000 USD a day, in a 9 star hotel.

Why does Imran fly in private aircraft? Or live in a hotel?

He's nobody. A head of state needs security (8000/day, nice numbers?), but why does imran need all the luxury life.
