NIGERIAN AIR FORCE CHIEF CONFIRMS EXPECTED JF-17 DELIVERIES

Nigeria... Come on.. It will not serve as good promotion if such incompetent military get hands on Jft. We should have waited for more worthy customers.

Nigeria has an extremely competent military. Their budget will make a good customer for the JF range, and with their huge military budget training and refurbishing wouldn't be an issue either. Better still they wouldn't be negotiating you down on the price if the product lives up to its standards

Sirilanka posted an rfp rather than going straight to jf w/o competition nothing new though

Argentina wants transfer of tech but has no $$ for anything on the market even used kafirs which will in the long run cost more per aaf

what is the kafir which you refer to ?

With 30 hours on simulator plus another 30 on jf is the std conversion course for jf per latest Allen warren book ;) no 26 is jf ocu at peshawar and usually has one or 2 courses per year with 60 pilots at a time ;)

One get posted to operational jf sqn after completing this ~6 months course

This will be a HUGE BOOST to our aeronautical industry which will give us the capability to produce advanced fighter jets in the future

:pakistan:

Naf has alpha jet for ground attack modified by naf and f7 for air Defense totalling about 20 or so so in the long run 20 or so jf may replace all or some , US also cleared 20 aircraft but cost more than jf ?? Anyway time will tell how many will eventually be bought and what type in combination

Other than what's out here there (naf chief statement last year ) has been no confirmation from PAC/paf or catac ?? Any new news on jf for naf?

Afzal
Nigerian military is name only; highly corrupt and incompetent on the field. This is a nation that cannot even process the tomatoes it produces.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your comments---.

I was talking to a nigerian colleague a couple of years ago and told him---an extremely capable nation but the most corrupt people---.

You will be surprised to know that the nigerians are one of the highest numbers of students getting their PhD's in the US---.

They are also extremely intelligent---tactful---friendly and nice nice people. I had them as friends during my college days here in the U S----and then at work as colleagues---.

I did not see any thing bad in them---wonderful people---nice nice down to earth nigerians that I met---.

Another thing of interest---there is a big shortage of CATHOLIC priests in the " white " / Latino world---not many people from these groups are becoming priests due to the pressure of the sanctity of the vows of celibacy.

Nigeria has taken the lead in providing Catholic priests to the church---so maybe now---or in the future---if you are living in the west or in latino speaking countries---you priest might be a nigerian.
