Pak to give India railway access to Central Asian states

The ball is in pakistan's court now. Pak govt can choose to play it or leave it.

If the rail-link is allowed, it is a win-win situation: India gets new market, Pakistan gets revenue, and on the back of more economic dependence, relations will improve.

If rail-link is not allowed, it is a lose-lose situation. India will have to go for a new route which might be more expensive, pak doesn't earn any revenue, and due to lack of economic activity between India and Pak, relations will not improve on that front, and can deteriorate further. but economic loss will be more for Pak, since they will completely miss out on any revenue.

Also, this is a transit route for goods, not military hardware, so Pak is not compromising its sovereignty. Also, this rail link not a gift. Pak will be earning a good amount of transit fees. So this is business. Mutually beneficial business.

Just consider it as a business deal offered by any other country. Don't need to bring India bias into it. Pak can negotiate on transit fees and other business conditions to maximise benefit for its citizens.

The revenue generated is nothing when we compare it with other factors one of which is the loss to our markets when we give India the access. Its only a win situation for India only, definitely not for us.

Nope - the markets will not be shut to India. We will just ship it around Pakistan. Still, I wouldn't like Pakistani govt. gaining any money from Indian sources - which in turn will be used against India. This train thing is DOA.

as long as this continues no peace no land route can be given!

The traitors are indeed at work.

WTF why we should give India access to CARs at the expense of our own market ??????????

Seems Zardari is going to have some commission and traitors from ANP are at works.

expose them

lol, I like it when you get angry ! :bunny::smitten::bunny:

we are doing this while India violates the Indus treaty.

and you are think tank, remember an average Indian doesn't think they way you are. Please think beyond our enmity. Doesn't it excite you that pakistan can be connected to china by rail through India?

No it wont excite us if Pakistan is connected to China through India.

We have immediat border with China and we have other ways to connect with China.

This step is anti-Pakistan and should be stopped right here

Indian Goods woth millions of $$ meant for exports?? cant let it at the mercy of someone seeking shahadat.

Then Bharatiyas should not be sleeplessly seeking land and rail route from Pakistan.

We are not inviting you at all, its otherway round.

On another note those seeking shahadat have not yet turned their guns at India.

But on a third note it would be nice to have boggies full of Indian goods looted before reaching CARs:lol:

Well, if Pakistan decides not to give us access, we can always ship goods to Iran and have them taken to central Asia by rail or road from Iran.

If thats not possible, we can ask for railroad access in China. With Sino-Indian trade improving there is a good chance China might allow us to use their rail network to send goods to Central Asia.

We should deal with parties who will treat business as business.

The problem – in discussing this topic – has two facets i.e.

1. The Indians are looking at it from the Indian Interest Angle.

2. The Pakistanis are looking at it from the Pakistani Interest Angle.

Since the “Passage” is through Pakistan it is logical that Pakistan’s Interests are Paramount and thus all sides must look through “Pakistan’s Paramount Interests” tinted glasses.

After all we are all aware of the heavy “leakages” of Goods in transit to Afghanistan finding their way into the Pakistani Markets. This is detrimental to Pakistan as these goods have not paid any import duties to Pakistan Customs and Revenue Departments.

So these “in transit” goods are flooding the Pakistani Markets and are preferred as they are cheaper (not having paid any Import Duties)

As it is Free Import of Chinese goods has destroyed 30 to 40 Pakistani Industries. Do the Indians want Indian goods to destroy Pakistani Industries further?

I therefore unequivocally support the Pakistani view of ensuring that Pakistani Interests are held Paramount.

Thus India must find alternative routes to trade with the Central Asian Republics. It may be costlier than the direct route through Pakistan then so be it!

MohtaRMA we both are against it for our own reasons.

the best option would be transport via Iran and also have pakistan. in case of problems with pakistan we should be ready with the plan with IRAN. Along with that in the coming days when stability is established in Afghanistan we can setup devlopment and production centers their which would be exclusive for the overseas market.

Till then lets use Pakistan routes. Once we are done we can switch over...

News not confirmed...and cyber war is on.......Pakistanis love to bask in the glory of the presumed importance they assume they enjoy when discussing such topics........and Indians just can't stop selling the idea to them.......are bhai Ganje ko kangha nahi chahiye.....to tum log zabardasti kaise bech loge.......

Pakistan's rail network is anyways in Pathetic condition ...it can't support the load that it already it has to handle.....so using that for Indian goods transport would be a waste of time ...no one knows when the rails go out of order and the whole arrangement goes bezerk.
