Pakistan 'blocking supplies to US base'

Here's the point to ponder:

Pakistan blocked the NATO supplies in November 2010.

In spite of heavy diplomatic efforts, the supplies were stalled for over 10 days...

Then followed the tumultuous months full of intensified drone strikes, Raymond Davis fiasco, OBL operation, Copter intrusions, even more intensified terrorist attacks...

Now that they are blocking the NATO supplies again... interesting times ahead!

Not sure if the blocking of supplies has anything to do with the incidents you mentioned, unless you yourself believe in conspiracy theories.

US had to apologized publically.

i disagree

Sorry point taken you are correct. I was thinking of the resent past. But certainly ever since America has seen India as a counter to China they have tended to neglect our concerns.

Venezuela says ''f*ck you America'' and supports drug cartels and FARC rebels in a pro-US Columbia but has F-16s and Citgo gas stations all over the U.S.

well, it's always been a very transactional relationship i think....not the most genuine one. At least on government-to-government level.

ups and downs.....''cyclical''

we've often had merging and diverging interests...neither has always been very upfront with eachother at times

Yes.

1. US slightly intrudes Pakistani airspace.

2. Pakistan holds back supplies for 10 days.

3. US publicly apologizes for that intrusion.

4. A few months fast forward, US sends in its choppers, does a dramatic operation near the capital, and comes back.

Apologies anyone?

It has been told very clearly by the Americans that for the last one year everything was done to keep the relations from getting rocky, so as to prepare for the Abbottabad operation.

Ever noticed the change in attitude of the Americans after OBL was done? Kerry comes, says no one is going to apologize; Uses strongest of words to demand the chopper back, and foretells the problems in getting more funds through the Congress.

If you have noticed, this attitude of the American statesmen was never to be seen in the open (except the 'bomb you to stone age' thingy that Musharraf claims Armitage gave him.)

There is no need to bomb anyone into the stone age when the terrorists are doing their darndest to drag folks back into the stone age with no help from the USA. NATO/US are about trying to help folks escape from stone age mentality and actions of the terrorists, not the reverse.
