RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday said that Pakistan does not believe in camp politics.
The Army chief made the remarks while addressing the two-day Islamabad Security Dialogue 2022.
Acknowledging the efforts of the National Security Division for organising the second security dialogue, COAS Gen Bajwa said: “I believe today more than ever we need to inculcate and promote such spaces for intellectual debate and discourse where people from around the world come together to share their ideas about the future of their country and world at large.”
He was of the view that the spaces like this hold special importance where great individuals can identify the need for global cooperation rather than confrontation.
Regarding the unprecedented challenges faced around the world, he said that the resurgence of inter-state conflicts amid shared global challenges of poverty, climate change, terrorism, cyber intrusion and scarcity of resources poses profound questions for the international system.
“The international community’s collective security rests in our ability to integrate our shared goals of global prosperity to an equitable international system resisting the external pressures.
“Pakistan, as a country located at the crossroads of economic and strategic confronts, is navigating these shared challenges in our immediate region and through our partnership in the international community,” he said.
The chief of army staff further added that Pakistan’s first-ever National Security Policy places the safety, security, dignity and prosperity of its citizens at the heart of our security policy.
“It [National Security Policy] recognises the symbiotic relationship between the economic, human and traditional security, placing economic security at the core,” he said.
Gen Bajwa further went on to say that the policy’s ultimate aim is to achieve prosperity for Pakistan’s citizens and it focuses on ensuring domestic economic stability and growth augmented through development partnership with the international community under our geo-economic strategy.
COAS mentioned that in order to achieve this required peace at home and abroad, Pakistan’s security forces have given innumerable sacrifices to defeat terrorism. He highlighted that since 2001 Pakistan has suffered over 90,000 causalities and more than Rs150 billion in economic losses.
“Our commitment to defeat terrorism remains unwavering,” he reiterated, adding that with the help of security and law enforcement agencies, the country has made remarkable gains against terrorism which has resulted in a remarkable improvement in the internal security situation of the country.
COAS Gen Bajwa, however, added that the threat of terrorism and violent extremism remains and the struggle will continue till “we eliminate the last terrorist and cause of terrorism from our region.”
He said: "We are committed to preserving our gains against terrorism and are working with the interim Afghan government and other neighbours to ensure that terrorist organisations are no longer allowed to use the territory of one county against another.”
Pakistan is hosting the second iteration of the Islamabad Security Dialogue on the 1st and 2nd of April, bringing together Pakistani and international policy experts to discuss emerging challenges in international security under the theme “Comprehensive Security: Reimagining International Cooperation”.

Even IF we assume this is Gen. Bajwa's sincere assessment and that he has not sold his soul, as long as people with this (Gen. Bajwa's) mentally stay in power, Pakistan would remain on its knees, only because of this mentally.
Your president used to be received by theirs at airport, now their undersecretary handling change of regime, to which all except one are party. What a journey we have made and what a wisdom we are being shoved down our minds.
General Bajwa et al., Have already brought PA to the level of punjab police, let's see what PDM further does to it.

Imran Khan didn't do anything differently from what India is doing.
The difference is that the West has a ready supply of slavish beggars in Pakistan to follow its orders, whereas in India the West treads cautiously because it still believes it can use India as leverage against China. India allows the West to keep believing it while extracting maximum benefit from them.

About your last line, it is true of the government of course because of the Indian military's large inventory of USSR / Russian systems for which the spares and the maintenance will become difficult if India were to ditch Russia and the natural gas and fertilizers that India imports from Russia and Central Asia so the Indian government has to keep pretenses of "Hindi-Rusi Bhai Bhai". Historically during the USSR days it was fashionable for political parties in India to allege "You are a CIA agent" to some adversary politician but it wasn't like that India as a society at depth was a progressive one that admired the USSR and the ideology it promoted in the world, and because India wasn't that at depth it later voted in ( since voting is the Indian form of anti-democracy ), India voted in the right-wing BJP in states and in 2014 at the center.

15th August 1947

1947 you say but this happened 74 years later last year :
A Dalit family from Karnataka's Miyapur village in Koppal district was fined Rs 25,000 after their two-year-old child entered a temple.

According to a news report, villagers said that upper caste members sought money from the family for 'purification' rituals but the district administration intervened, resolved the issue and warned them.

The toddler entered the temple on September 4 when his family had taken him there to offer prayers for his birthday. The child ran inside the temple premises when his father was praying. Temple priest and locals tooks objection to this and imposed a fine on the family on September 11.

“It was my son’s birthday and we wanted to offer our prayers at the Anjaneya temple in front of our house. It started raining then and my son entered the temple. That is all that happened,” says Chandru, father of the two-year-old child. According to another news report, Chandru and his family are Dalits and are not allowed in the Anjaneya Temple in Miyapura of Koppal, much like in several other temples in the region.

After the incident came to light, members of the Channadasar community that Chandru belongs to held protests and approached the police.

Chandru's family has refused to lodge a police complaint to avoid disrupting the harmony of the village.

So this means that the army supports Imran Khan? :pop:

I think we can both agree the headlines are a far reaching spin of what was said.

I also think its important for public perception not to highlight any potential civil military split.

If the split is there highlighting it now won't change anything. To ignore it or underplay it presents strength which may be useful in swaying votes or bringing people to the street/ballot later.

After Sunday would be the time to capitalise on it for political benefits.

Besides PM has the power to remove anyone not pulling along. He has not - he has publicly defended armed forces. PTI supporters should hold the same line for public perception.

GENERAL BAJWA NEW STATEMENT ON KASHMIR AND UKRAINE DURING islamabad security dialogue ceremony

COAS General Bajwa said
1: Sadly Russian invasion against ukraine is very unfortunate as thousands of people have been killed ,million made refugees and half of ukraine destroyed .This is a huge tragedy which must be stopped immediatley .

2: Pakistan is ready for dialogue with India

This is major shift in policy negating Imran Government plicy of neutrality in Ukraine Crisis ,General Bajwa has clearly following Western agenda on Russian and ukraine crisis by criticizing Russia .
Also On kashmir previously Imran kHAN HAD STANCE OF NOT starting any dialogue with india until they revoke their decision of speciall status of kashmir but COAS has now came with new policy .

Establishment needs to understand that people of Pak will choose IK over Army any day if army under the leadership of US poodle Bajwa siding with corrupt traitor tola.

IK should come openly against Bajwa.
Bhai bas kardo. IK was an experiment of the army. They brought him in power. He failed to deliver and now dragging everyone through the mud including the establishment.

I've been reading on PDF for over 2 decades now.
I have never seen the posters this angry at the behaviour of a COAS or the Pak Military.
This is very dangerous for the Pakistani military to lose the support of the people like this.

Bajwa should be tried for treason.

During musharrafs time army officers didnt wear uniform outside of cantt because of how unpopular they were with public.

If IK failed to deliver in 3.5 years so does this justify bringing all the corrupt traitor tola to power again who looted the country for 35 years. What they did deliver in 35 years?

What did Bajwa deliver btw in 6 years of his useless worthless tenure other than appeasing the enemies of Pak both internally and externally.
