PM orders to reopen Pak-Afghan border
March 20, 2017, 12:33 pm

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has ordered to reopen Pak-Afghan border, reported Waqt News.

The PM maintains that while links of recent terror attacks have been traced back to Afghanistan, “but Pakistan is reopening border as a goodwill gesture.”

The premier further said both countries have enjoyed cordial relations over the years.

“Cultural and historic relations between both sides are centuries old,” he added.

PM Nawaz also stressed that without stable Afghanistan, peace cannot be achieved in the South Asian region.

Yeah as the SC is about to announce something so in case its going against SOMEONE then there should not be much of an issue in creating law and order situation with a couple of incidents here and there and ofcourse as usual it would be totally a COINCIDENCE :mad::mad:.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday ordered to reopen the Pak-Afghan border with immediate effect, DawnNews reported.

The decision was taken as a goodwill gesture as the countries enjoy religious, cultural and historical relations, the prime minister was quoted as saying.

The prime minister hoped that the Afghan government will take measures to eliminate the basis upon which the borders were closed.

“A durable peace in Afghanistan is essential for peace and stability in the region,” Nawaz maintained.

The premier was of the view that the prolonged closure of borders was against the interest of people and economy.

In the aftermath of blast at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sindh last month, the government had decided to seal border crossings with Afghanistan for an indefinite period.

The Pak-Afghan border crossing at Torkham and Chaman were immediately sealed for all kinds of communication due to the security concerns.

However, earlier in March, Pakistan temporarily opened border crossings at Torkham and Chaman to allow stranded Afghan nationals to return to their country.

The border crossings remained open on March 7 and 8, "in order to provide an opportunity to those nationals of Afghanistan who had come to Pakistan on valid visas and wish to return to their country", a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release had stated.

No..Problem was not related to border closure at first ....Either that decision was wrong or this one..

Thats just my point too.

The Pak - Afghan issue including that of the border has become like a married couple who cannot live with each other or without each other !

LOL .Do you really think the border was closed on Ganja order ?Those who can closed it can keep it closed should they wish or leave the office if comprising national security..

Shameless pathetic govt. At least change the deadline of Afghan refugee repatriation from Dec. 31. Indecisive and incompetent.

Sweets being distributed in Express Tribune and US embassy, liberals wil be very happy today. Shame

Yes I'm sure your "goodwill gesture" will work wonders. Foreign policy viz a viz Afghanistan is a complete failure of this government.
