Retired army major shot dead at Cox’s Bazar check-post

I recommend OC Pradeep for a multi-promotion to the post of Home Minister or at least IG. Bangladesh needs this type of people who would sincerely protect lives and property of innocent BD people. May Allah bless him!!!

Well, current IG killed or given order to kill even more people than OC Pradip did.

Awami League regime from the top and its killing squad in "police" uniform still active to fabricate facts. Just few days ago Awami regime PM Hasina called victim mother and gave assurance of justice. At this stage of the case, without blessing from the Sheikh Hasina, so called "police" would not try to file fabricated case by forcing key witness family. This goes to show that 70+ years old Hasina can be lier and active instigator of killing Bangladesh army officers and with agenda to put Bangladesh Army subservient to Awami killing squad in "police" uniform.

Sinha murder: Why is there so much delay in Pradeep-Liaquat's remand?

Aug 16, 2020

RAB is looking for answers to various questions regarding the murder of retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. Whether it was a premeditated murder or an accident, whether former OC Pradeep Das or Liaquat fired on the instructions of the SP, the investigation is trying to find out the information. They are also feeling the need to check Sinha's laptop and mobile phone.

On Saturday (August 15) afternoon, Lieutenant Colonel Ashiq Billah, director of the RAB's law and media branch, said, 'The investigation is ongoing. I can't say anything right now about the matter under investigation. However, I can say that we are looking for answers to many exciting questions.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Khairul Islam, who is investigating the case, said on his mobile phone, "The accused are being questioned in remand." The information they provided about the incident that day is being preserved.

Investigators say Shahedul Islam Sifat, the only eyewitness to Sinha's murder, said Sinha got out of the car at the checkpoint. His pistol was in the car. However, after the incident, Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das claimed that Sinha fired a pistol at the police. Considering the surroundings, it can be seen that it could be a planned assassination. Because, the laptop and mobile phone used by Sinha are not available after the incident. Which was seized by the police from Nilima Resort. From these the real cause of the incident can be known. The suspects may have known what kind of documents were there.

After the incident, former Teknaf police OC Pradeep Kumar Das called the Cox's Bazar police superintendent and said he had ordered Sinha to shoot. But before the shooting, Liaquat took permission from the OC or someone else, which is now being investigated.

Meanwhile, 15 days after the incident, the main suspects, former OC Pradeep Kumar Das, outpost in-charge Liaquat and SI Dulal Mitra, have not yet been questioned. The three will be remanded only after getting information from the seven who are in remand. The information given to them has already revealed a lot about the incident.

According to intelligence sources, Sinha's documentary depicts the entire drug trade in Teknaf. Sinha had to take the statement of OC Pradeep for the documentary. Sinha may be killed for fear that his own grievances may be exposed.

Retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at Shamlapur check post on Marine Drive Road in Teknaf on the night of July 31. The victim's sister has filed a murder case in the court. 9 people including Pradeep have been accused in this.

In the public hearing, unarmed Sinha was shot down after getting out of the car of 9 eyewitnesses

Police got out of the car and shot Major (Retd) Sinha. The whole area was in a state of turmoil due to the horror of the killings. After the joint press conference between the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Police, the anxiety, fear and panic among the people subsided. Major (retd) Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan murder case investigation committee said in a public hearing yesterday, nine local eyewitnesses said so. The killing of Major (retd) Sinha of the police force at a very cold head at the Baharchhara Shamlapur police checkpoint in Teknaf on the night of July 31 is becoming clearer, say people in the area who took part in the hearing.

The statements made by the people who took part in the public hearing to the inquiry committee made it clear that Major Singh did not have any weapon in his hand at the time of the incident. Police took Major Sinha out of the car and shot him in the head.

After the hearing, Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Mizanur Rahman, head of the inquiry committee, said the testimony of nine eyewitnesses had been taken during the public hearing. They provided important information. But not everything can be said right now. The report of this public hearing and investigation committee with some recommendations will be submitted to the government by August 23. Due to the public hearing, a lot of journalists attended the Shamlapur Rohingya camp of Teknaf Baharchhara Union.

Cox's Bazar: One of the two hard disks of CCTV in the OC room of Teknaf Police Station could not be found to collect evidence of Sinha's murder. Another was found to be damaged. So it was not possible to collect any footage from there. The officer-in-charge of the police station said he was not sure if they had been destroyed before joining.

Before his death, retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan interviewed Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das about drug smuggling. The investigation is also based on the information published in the media. Cameras, laptops and other devices with Sinha are being searched. Attempts were made to collect CCTV footage in OC Pradeep's room.

For this purpose, Teknaf Model Police Station conducted CCTV test from 25th July to 6th August with the help of a local technician. However, a hard disk of the CCTV in the OC's room was not found. Another one terabyte hard disk is found to be damaged.

CCTV technician Mohammad Alam said, "I was taken to check and saw that there were two cameras and they were not recording." Later, when I was asked to take a good look, I checked and saw that one of the hard disks was broken and the other had no hard disk inside.

Mohammad Abul Faisal, the new officer-in-charge of Teknaf police station, said what he received after joining had been analyzed. As soon as I joined, I checked the two CCTV cameras and saw that one did not have a hard disk and the other did not record.

Meanwhile, 19 days after the incident, Ramu Thana has listed 29 signs seized. The RAB officials in charge of the investigation have applied to the court to take it to themselves.

Analysis from investigative journalist concluded regime is playing drama with Maj Sinha killing to cover it up.

The motive is still undiscovered!

Home Ministry's inquiry committee could not remove Pradeep's questioning in 28 days after remanding 3 witnesses in police case
Is the investigation into the murder of Major (Retd.) Sinha revolving in the same circle? Despite the efforts of the RAB officers, tireless work and the continued information support of the intelligence unit, the countrymen do not feel that they are seeing visible success in the investigation. This is being discussed and debated among the common people everywhere in Cox's Bazar. Many are skeptical, saying, In the end, everything will not stop, right? Because the press briefing of the RAB is limited to the word 'very important information has been found', the people involved in the case are getting frustrated. On the other hand, 28 days after the murder, the investigation committee formed by the Home Ministry could not talk to OC Pradeep Kumar Das, one of the main accused in the case. The investigating agency RAB has remanded Pradeep-Liaquat and Nanda Dulal for three more days in the third phase. Due to this, the report of the inquiry committee was supposed to be submitted on August 31, but it has been delayed. The RAB has remanded three witnesses in the police case Nurul Amin, Nizam Uddin and Mohammad Ayash for four more days. For all these reasons, all the evidence of the murder has been gathered, but the investigating officers are still in the dark about the motive of 'why this murder'. RAB has remanded Nizam Uddin and Md Ayash for four more days. For all these reasons, all the evidence of the murder has been gathered, but the investigating officers are still in the dark about the motive of 'why this murder'. RAB has remanded Nizam Uddin and Mohammad Ayash for four more days. Although all the evidence of the murder has been gathered for these reasons, the investigating officers are still in the dark about the motive of 'why this murder'.
According to multiple sources, the investigation is being hampered step by step due to the influence of someone influential in all points of the investigation activities and various tactical roles. On the day of the incident, the OC had to accompany Pradeep and the RAB officials had to go through a lot of trouble to get the list of those who reached the spot with a sigh. Two sub-inspectors and a constable who went to the spot were immediately evacuated mysteriously. Although arrest warrants have been issued against them, they have not yet been arrested.

Meanwhile, the disappearance of CCTV footage and hard drive of Teknaf police station is believed to be the biggest obstacle in uncovering the motive behind Sinha's murder. Moreover, despite repeated allegations against some people like OC Pradeep or Liaquat, the district police has not taken any major action against them so far.

'Pradeep press down Sinha's throat with his feet and laughs'

Retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur checkpost in Baharchhara Union on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on Monday (August 31st). On the night of July 31, an eyewitness from Teknaf's Marich Bunia witnessed everything from near the scene. He described the tragic events that took place.
On condition of anonymity, the eyewitness said that Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed, a retired army officer, was stopped at the APBN check post on Marine Drive Road in Teknaf around 9pm on July 31. At that time, a constable was on duty at the check post wearing APBN uniform. He was there to stop the car. Inspector in-charge of Baharchhara camp Liakat Ali and SI Nandalal Rakshita were already present near the check post in white clothes.
The APBN member signaled to stop Major Sinha's silver private car at the checkpoint. The car went a little further and stopped. Go to that member of APBN. Asked for his identity, Sinha introduced himself as a former army major. At that moment, he told Major Sinha to leave. Suddenly Inspector Liaquat ran and wanted to know the identity of the person in the driver's seat. In English, Major Sinha introduced himself as a former army officer. After that, Sinha's video recording partner Sifat was the first to get out of the private car. He was immediately slapped and thrown to the ground. Which is done by the members of APBN at the check post. Seeing this, Sinha opened the door and came out of the driver's seat.
At that moment, Inspector Liaquat fired two shots from a distance at Sinha asking him to raise his hand. Sinha's licensed pistol was in the car at the time. Inspector Liaquat then approached and fired two more shots. Major Sinha immediately fell on the highway.
The eyewitness repeatedly asked him not to reveal his identity as he might be harassed by the police if his identity was revealed. He said Inspector Liaquat called OC for the first time after Sinha was shot. Shortly afterwards, OC Pradeep came to the spot in a police vehicle. He was wearing white then. When he came to the spot, OC Pradeep asked Sifat to handcuff him and pour water through his nose. Sifat started shouting loudly. As he did not have a handcuff, Pradeep started abusing the policemen who were with him. Said, 'Dam with rope. Or do you not have that? ' At that time, an APBN member ran and started looking for the rope. By the time the sound of gunfire, more people in the area began to gather near the checkpoint.
OC Pradeep saw this eyewitness standing. However, he (OC) did not say anything as more locals approached the check post.
The eyewitness further said that after being shot in the body, Major Sinha fell to the ground and was in a coma. Then OC Pradeep went to Sinha to say something to Liaquat. First he laid his feet on his chest and held his neck with his feet. Sinha was still moving. After some time, his movement stopped. At that moment, OC Pradeep looked at Major Sinha and laughed.
Eyewitnesses said that a police SI removed Major Sihna from the spot in a vehicle for some time.
Later, two cases were filed by the police in this incident. A case was registered at Teknaf police station. The case alleges obstruction of government work and shootings. Sifat was made the accused in that case. Shipra Debnath was made an accused in the drug case filed with Ramu police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
Sinha's elder sister Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous filed a murder case in the Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court on August 5. Nine policemen, including sacked Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das, were charged in the case. So far, RAB has arrested 13 people, including seven policemen including OC Pradeep, three members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) and three witnesses in the case filed by Teknaf police.
Three members of the arrested APBN, dismissed Inspector of Police Liaquat Ali and SI Nandadulal have already given confessional statements under Section 164 in the Sinha murder case.

OC Pradeep Kumar Das, killer of Bangladesh Army officer Maj (retd) Sinha contacted indian embassy

Killer of Maj Sinha contacted indian embassy came out in the home ministry sponsored inquiry report that home minister refused to publish yesterday. Nonetheless, inquery report published by none other than most popular ( so claimed) daily Prothom Alo.

OC Pradeep Das contact indian embassy high ups proved quite a few things:
1) indian embassy has contact and influence over activities of police in Bangladesh
2) india through its embassy trying to road block legal and law enforcement activities to free killer Pradeep Das
..... more

Pradeep used to 'fight' with personal weapons
When questioned by the inquiry committee, former Teknaf Police Station OC Pradeep Kumar Das said he had used his weapons in most of the gunfights that took place during his tenure. The committee members asked him, "During your tenure, 174 people have been killed in 108 gun battles. Did you lead them directly?" Pradeep says most of it has been under his leadership. The committee wanted to know, 'How many times have you shot yourself, with what weapon?' In response, Pradeep said he fired 20-30 times, using a personal weapon.

Pradeep told the inquiry committee that he had a Walter pistol worth Tk 7.5 lakh. "I use what I feel comfortable with," he said. In response to the committee's question, he said, he used to keep an account of his pistol shots by GD.
In response to a question about Inspector Liaquat, OC Pradeep said, 'Liaquat eats grass on horseback. He called the SP without informing me.
There is a huge picture of the lamp on the wall of Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar. The astonishing question of the inquiry committee is that when a government official is promoted to any level, his portrait is adorned on the wall! He also broke the rules and code of conduct and contacted foreign embassies, calling senior officials without heeding the protocol. The committee thinks that all this is his boundless arrogance.

Pradeep is set to get the death penalty, end of story.

It's obvious he will contact the Indian Embassy, Bangladeshi Hindus are known to use this trick, when they're caught committing crimes, they just call up India and cry religious persecution, nothing new, nothing unexpected.
