True. I don't know why we haven't done more to strengthen our relations with these countries as they have proven to be more stable and reliable friends than these Arabs. Our foreign policy has always been shitty under Democratic rulers who lack foresight because they have no interest in their country's long term betterment, how else will they make a living?
In this regard, whatever people may think of General Zia at least he had a vision of the direction he wanted to take Pakistan in, especially in relation to the newly independent Central Asian republics with which we could have established a strong alliance. Pakistan would have become a regional power of a true sense.
As regards to the link you posted about Yasir Arafat, I read he even called Indira Gandhi his "sister". So much for Ummah aye.

কূটনীতিকদের বরাত দিয়ে জানানো হয়, রোহিঙ্গাদের মিয়ানমারে ফিরে যাওয়ার অধিকার রক্ষায় মিসরের পক্ষ থেকে একটি প্রস্তাব আনা হয়। তবে মিসরীয় প্রস্তাবটি চীন নাকচ করে দেয়। এরপর ১৫টি সদস্য রাষ্ট্রই সহিংসতা বন্ধে একমত পোষণ করে।
সহিংসতা বন্ধের পাশাপাশি নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের বৈঠকে রাখাইনের পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক করা, আইনশৃঙ্খলা প্রতিষ্ঠা, নাগরিকদের সুরক্ষা, সামজিক ও আর্থিক কর্মকাণ্ড স্বাভাবিক করা এবং শরণার্থী সংকট নিরসনের আহ্বান জানানো হয়। নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের বিবৃতিতে শরণার্থীদের সহায়তা দেওয়ার জন্য বাংলাদেশকে ধন্যবাদ জানানো হয় এবং জাতিসংঘ ও অন্যান্য সংস্থাগুলোকেও এ বিষয়ে বাংলাদেশকে সহায়তা দেওয়ার আহ্বান জানানো হয়।
বৈঠকে নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের সদস্যরা রাখাইন সংকটের একটি দীর্ঘমেয়াদি সমাধানের বিষয়ে একমত হয়েছে এবং কফি আনান কমিশনের প্রতিবেদন বাস্তবায়নের আহ্বান জানিয়েছে। জাতিসংঘে ব্রিটিশ রাষ্ট্রদূত ম্যাথুই রাইক্রফট জানান, পরিষদের অনেক সদস্য রোহিঙ্গা ইস্যুতে উন্মুক্ত আলোচনার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন। তারা এ ইস্যুতে প্রেসিডেন্সিয়াল বিবৃতিরও আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন, যা অফিসিয়াল রেকর্ড হিসেবে থাকবে।
এদিকে বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্সের এক প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, মিয়ানমার ইস্যুতে দীর্ঘ ৯ বছর পর নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের সব সদস্যের ঐক্যমত্যের ভিত্তিতে এই বিবৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছে। রাইক্রফট বলেন, ৯ বছর পর কোনও বিষয় নিয়ে একমত হতে সক্ষম হলো নিরাপত্তা পরিষদ। তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা রাখাইনের পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে সবাই একমত।’ হিউম্যান রাইটস ওয়াচের জাতিসংঘ বিষয়ক পরিচালক অক্ষয় কুমার বলেন, ‘আজকে আমাদের জন্য অনেক বড় অর্জনের দিন। মিয়ানমার ইস্যুতে নিরাপত্তা পরিষদ একমত হয়েছে যেটা খুবই বিরল ঘটনা।’

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Wednesday to express “deep concerns” over treatment of Muslims and other ethnic minorities in her country.
The phone call followed a chorus of cries for Canada to revoke the honorary citizenship it granted Suu Kyi in 2007.
The Prime Minister’s Office was silent on that point in its summary of the call, issued shortly after Trudeau took questions from the media at a cabinet retreat in St. John’s, N.L. The timing meant reporters were unable to ask the prime minister about his conversation with Suu Kyi.
An estimated 370,000 Rohingya have fled Myanmar for neighbouring Bangladesh, saying they are running from attacks by government troops and Buddhist mobs.

She says her government is fighting a militant insurgency.
According to the summary, Trudeau stressed to Suu Kyi the urgent need for Myanmar’s military and civilian leaders to take a strong stand in ending the violence and promote the protection of civilians and access for the United Nations and humanitarian groups.
Trudeau also underscored “the particular importance” of Suu Kyi’s role as “a moral and political leader.”
The two discussed “the need to defend and protect the rights of all minorities” and Trudeau offered Canada’s support to help build “a peaceful and stable society in Myanmar,” the summary said.

Suu Kyi will skip this month’s UN General Assembly meetings to address the problems at home, Myanmar’s government said Wednesday.
The crisis erupted on Aug. 25, when an insurgent Rohingya group attacked police outposts in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. That prompted Myanmar’s military to launch “clearance operations” against the rebels, setting off a wave of violence that has left hundreds dead and thousands of homes burned — mostly Rohingya in both cases.
The government blames Rohingya for the violence, but journalists who visited the region found evidence that raises doubts about its claims that Rohingya set fire to their own homes.
Many of the Rohingya who flooded into refugee camps in Bangladesh told of Myanmar soldiers shooting indiscriminately, burning their homes and warning them to leave or die. Others said they were attacked by Buddhist mobs.
UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein has said the actions in Rakhine state appear to be “a textbook example of ethnic cleansing.”
While the Myanmar military denies it is targeting civilians, independent reports of horrific violence and even intentionally set landmines used against the Rohingya are shocking, said Canadian Green party Leader Elizabeth May.
She called on Suu Kyi to condemn her state’s horrific actions in the strongest possible terms. “Silence is complicity.”
Suu Kyi once lived under house arrest imposed by the military junta that ruled her country. She led her party to a convincing victory in 2015 elections.

I think they won't revoke her honorary citizenship at once because this way Canada will loose any leverage over Myanmar. So I guess it is better that Canada uses it to force her stop the carnage but if it doesn't work then not only revoke her citizenship rather declare her png

Morocco today sent aid and emergency support materials for the Rohingyas in Bangladesh, who have fled into the country following persecution in Myanmar.
A flight carrying 14 tonnes of relief materials landed at Chittagong’s Shah Amanat International Airport this morning and was received by local authorities.
Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Habibur Rahman told our local correspondent he received the relief materials at the airport at 9:15am.
The materials including four tonnes of rice, two tonnes of baby food, medicine, quilts and tents for temporary shelter will be forwarded to Cox’s Bazar at the earliest, the official said.
Meanwhile, an Indian Air Force plane is expected to deliver the first consignment of relief materials for Rohigyas this afternoon, our New Delhi correspondent reports.
They will be sending rice, pulses, sugar, salt, cooking oil, tea, instant noodles, biscuits, mosquito nets and other support materials, a statement of Indian foreign ministry said.
The relief material will be delivered in multiple consignments, the first tranche of which will be delivered Chittagong by an Indian Air Force plane on 14th September 2017.
“India stands ready to provide any assistance required by Government of Bangladesh in this hour of need,” the Ministry of External Affairs statement said.

গণহত্যার মুখে মিয়ানমার থেকে পালিয়ে এসে কক্সবাজারের বিভিন্ন ক্যাম্পে আশ্রয় নেয়া রোহিঙ্গাদের জন্য ‘মানবিক দৃষ্টিকোণ’ থেকে ত্রাণ সহায়তা পাঠাচ্ছে ভারত। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার ত্রাণবাহী বিমানের প্রথম ফ্লাইট দিল্লি থেকে রওয়ানা দেয়ার কথা রয়েছে।
ঢাকাস্থ ভারতীয় হাইকমিশনারের কাছ থেকে পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জেনে গতকাল বুধবার ভারতের পররাষ্ট্র সচিব জয়শঙ্কর ত্রাণ পাঠানোর প্রক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন করেন।
ত্রাণ সামগ্রী চট্টগ্রামে পৌঁছানোর পর ভারতীয় হাইকমিশনের কর্মকর্তারা সেগুলো বাংলাদেশি কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছে হস্তান্তর করবেন।
ভারত সরকারের সূত্র উল্লেখ করে ইন্ডিয়ান এক্সপ্রেসের এক প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, দিল্লিতে বাংলাদেশি হাইকমিশনার সৈয়দ মুয়াজ্জেম আলীর অনুরোধ এবং ঢাকায় ভারতীয় হাইকমিশনার হর্ষ বর্ধন শ্রীংলার কাছ থেকে পরিস্থিতি সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জানার পর চলমান ইস্যুতে এই ‘মানবিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি’ গ্রহণ করে।
প্রসঙ্গত, গত সপ্তাহে মিয়ানমার সফর করে ভারতীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি রোহিঙ্গাদের গণহত্যায় মিয়ানমার সরকারের পক্ষে অবস্থান নেন। অন্যদিকে ভারত সরকার সম্প্রতি সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে সেদেশে অতীতে বিভিন্ন সময়ে আশ্রয় নেয়া ৪০ হাজার রোহিঙ্গাকে ফেরত পাঠাবে

You guys should had donated to UNHCR instead of publicity stunt if you were true to your act. UNHCR is crying for money.
