Russian Military Document Discloses Saudi Arabia's own Ballistic Missile Program
1526077_-_main.jpg

A Russian Military document has disclosed that Saudi Arabia has established its own Ballistic Missile production facility along with SAMs and has test fired a 67KM one in 1997, the current status of Saudi Produced Balistic missiles is considered a closely guarded state secret but it is safe to assume that the Saudi missiles has since expanded and became better considering the recent decision
to double the manpower and bases of the Royal Saudi Ballistic Missile Force and including them in all the major military maneuver conducted in the country.

"A ballistic missile and SAM production facility was built in Al Kharj in 1990 within the scope of the Arab defense industry to manufacture short-range ballistic missiles and the Shahin SAM system. It allowed Saudi Arabia to launch production of its own short-range missiles. The first missile with a range of 62 km was fired in June 1997."

There is no reason why KSA can't have Ballistic Missiles of its own.

From our perspective, powerful regional powers like Turkey, KSA, Iran, Egypt, Indonesia should have such stand off delivery systems.

The bitchfighting and competetion between Muslim states is actually essential for our region's military growth.

Pakistan has helped Turkey with Yildirim missiles, and KSA is believed to be operating solid fuel Shaheens.

BTW, does KSA have its own ICBM project?

Not that freely, but KSA has a ballistic missile program that while not as advanced as the Iranian program is, it holds enough stand off power to act as a deterrent to the regional powers. And I will quote an officer with relations to me "Our own missiles can reach any part of Iran and Israel, and our missile shower capability is good enough to act as deterrent, but its on the RSAF to take care of surgical strikes not the RSBMF"

Actually, the DF-3 missiles in KSA's inventory have already been upgraded, where its range and accuracy have all been greatly improved.

But the DF-3 is not the backbone of the RSBMF, it is another one that I believe in lieu of recent events will be disclosed in its due time.

Just a huge F U, to many people here that kept saying "Saudi Arabia doesn't have the capability to produce any missiles", well here you go, a Russian military documents from their strategic research institute begs to differ. In fact we have had it for the past 25 years.

Ma'Shah'Allah. This is a great news.

Does anyone know the exact date of the Saudi Arabian missile test of June 1997? Also dates of any other suspected ballistic missile tests carried out by Saudi Arabia would be most appreciated.
