Who said Tendulkar is my God? He's the best cricketer of his generation, and like the best musicians of their generation have received the Bharat Ratna, he too has received the recognition.

And you'd bestow the Bharat Ratna for someone who usurped power for himself, and worse, was ready to partition his country for the sake of power. To someone who ignored our Nation's defence that ultimately resulted in a virtual rout in 62. To someone who ignored criticism and basked in the congratulations of his cronies. For all his efforts, what exactly did Non-alignment achieve? What exactly did socialistic License Raj achieve?

And what honesty are you talking about? What exactly was he honest about? His affairs with Edwina Mountbatten?

How come suddenly it becomes a disqualifying criteria for granting Bharat Ratna who served his country more than twenty years with excellence? Come on, he served his country in a fine manner and made us proud. We can debate if he deserves it or not but we can not say he should not be awarded because of his poor attendance in Rajya Sabha.

This debate goes nowhere as there will always a scope for disagreement (just as you are doing in case of Nehru) if a person deserves an award or not.
