Mining is just the beginning. You need many more and expensive next steps.

Building enrichment facilities.

Enrich Uranium in many years for a single Bomb.

Building delivery vehicles and Satelite guidance networks.

This is all too much for Turkey. You will need all your money to fight uprisings of your many minorities in the future. just sayin

@LordTyrannus

"minority" , there is only Kurds, rest of the minorities are fine.

I dont know the exact numbers but you have many Pontian converts, Arabs, and Alawites in your country. Just the number of syrian Arabs has reached 1 Million inside Turkey.

Thanks for your attempt at trying to deliver a meaningful post, which actually just contains a subliminal message to belittle Turkey. Pro troll :)

@LordTyrannus

No, we have no problem with any minority other then Kurds, and Syrian refugees are not our citizens, if they do something stupid they would just be kicked out.

Wasting money on Nuclear weapons is stupid if you're not a super power, as I said before we should just focus on modernizing and proffessionalising our army, thats more then enough.

Turkey’s Satellite Launch Vehicle: Turkish Opacity Leads to WMD Concerns | Turkey Wonk: Nuclear and Political Musings in Turkey and Beyond

The recent SLV announcement has prompted speculation that Ankara could, at some point in the future, use the technological know-how from its SLV efforts to develop a long range ballistic missile. Thus, Ankara’s failure to clearly articulate the nature of its 2,500 km missile effort has led to further speculation that Ankara does, indeed, intend to use the SLV as the basis for a ballistic missile.

It would be appreciated if everyone explains why they voted the way they did.
  1. Think about ethical considerations.
Only deterrent Turkey has against Nuclear strike, is having our own nukes to retaliate. Big countries without nuclear weapons is a huge weakness.Think of Japan during WW2. US knew Japan couldn't strike back so they nuked them.
  1. Will Turkey end up being like Iran?
Turkey should get nuclear tech secretly from Pakistan. Taht is my opinion. But as far as I know Turkey already sent Turkish students to Russia to study nuclear tech. They are not sanctioning us as far as I know.

  1. What are the benefits?
the benefits are, other nuclear powers will think twice before doing nuclear strike on Turkey since it will be answered with a strike back.

Only countries with ambitions for forcefull military expanding need nuclear weapons. European Union will condamn turkish move to produce enriched uranium. Turkey will lose the backing of the Western community.
