Don't put much stock into what the media reveal about Turkish - US cooperation, the reality is the two nations already are integrated at a core level which is a good thing and the only real difference being geographic and language differences. This is nothing new for people who do their research, this is however new for the islamaphobes and ultra conservative hicks in the states.

interestingly enough (a bit off topic) i read that a former DG-ISI (who isnt in America's "good books") is now a consultant for Stratfor. Go figure!
