Tejas has been tested well and good but just like Arjun its proper induction and mass production is kept on getting delayed by those corrupt top brass of the Military organisation and the politicians..........
If they induct Indian products, what will happen to their kickbacks from foreign deals.........

You do know that it was an IAF officer that asked for bribes and not Dassault right? :what:
Just like it is IAF that says, MK1 is not on the required level (true though) and that the MoD had pushed ADA / DRDO to deliver the required changes for IAF ASAP.

I would prefer LCA's over keep flying the Migs as well, but that's a personal note and as long as it still has several issues, it won't be the prefered choice of IAF for sure, so we (ADA / DRDO) have to work more on improving Tejas, otherwise "they" will be responsible for more killed pilots!

Bro what's harm in inducting a squadron or 2 if it meets or exceeds the what MiG21 is today and in parallel work on improvement. It'll be a better approach. We'll not only saving lives of our pilots, but we'll be training them, developing new tactics, setting up & improving support staff and procedures.
 
I dont think that is white tape, discoloration they might be working on the lower panels, probably will paint it when all the test are done.

The harm is, that our opponents have better fighters than these old gen Migs too and LCA must be capable to take them on (unless it's used only for certain roles and purposes), that's why not the Mig 21s that it should replace can be the benchmark, but similar 4th generation fighters and their capabilities.
As long as LCA still has issues with the radar, has not integrated all weapon capabilities, has not fully opened it's FCS and flight profile, or simply if their are doubts about it's maturity, IAF can't induct only because it's an indigenous fighter.

Dude, listen. We are losing pilots. While checks and procedures are built to keep functioning under normal circumstances, we are not under normal circumstances.

This is a crisis and if we need to have experienced pilots, we need to keep them alive.

Procedures is good but they should not be sacrosanct.

There has to be a logic for it that has to change according to given situation.
In this instance I am all for fast tracking say the Rafale procurement with more built in France and bought off the shelf with them ramping up production in France to meet IAF needs urgently along with adding another 2-3 SQD of MKIs coming after 2018/19 to replace yet more MiG-21 SQDs. But I'm sorry the induction of the LCA isn't something you can mess around with. The procedures are there for a reason- IOC and FOC aren't something to play around with depending on your need. What if there is a glaring flaw in the LCA's basic design or onboard computers that under specific conditions causes catastrophic accidents and fatalities that way? If you had rushed the FOC or gone ahead with induction before FOC is given then the fault would lay with the entire fleet, what if the problem is not able to be fixed? Or takes years to address? Then you have a grounded fleet indefinitely.

The observation that no LCA has crashed yet to it must be 100% safe is very naive mate. All LCAs flown thus far have been flown by the very best aviators the IAF has (test pilots), the a/c themselves have been throughly checked and prepped before each test flight much more than would happen in regular SQD service, every aspect of the LCAs is measured in real time by dedicated ground crews who adopt very risk adverse philosophy again neither of these would be there in SQD service.


But yes, for a while now brave brave men have been dying in these "flying coffins" and the establishment seems rather unmoved. If a reactionary measure is now to be taken it should be fast tracked off-the shelf procurements not prematurely inducting the LCA which could kill the LCA and by extension Indian aerospace industry should something go wrong.

if you talking about Jf 17 than we can talk about Sukhoi 30 mki...... We have done all modification within 4 years with help and you doing same thing with help (China). Same your Traniner Aircartfs....................


Hal Tejas.. designed and tested by India.... and its our 4rth generation fighter plane. So we have learnt from our mistakes and next future fighter plane will not take so much times.

But, can you say same thing for you? or Build designed and build fighter without help from other country?

It's our 1st baby and DAD will come Sooner...means more advance fighters..:angry:
