What's new

There are only 3 great powers in this world

Muslims, South Asians, South Americans, black people... all have the opportunity to become yellow sparrow.

Their strategy is to seek to migrate to richer and more developed countries, take over the industries and economies, have many children, eventually they will overwhelm the native population and demand political power.

Black Africans and South Americans historically didn't have the ambition to conquer others.

I will say Islam or maybe India.

Historically, Islam had spawn several superpowers, and of course, they won't miss the opportunity if there is one.

Currently USA is number 1 considering all factors such as logistics, bases, tech, equipment in service etc. China is closely following secondly but they don't have the vast logistical setup and allies that USA has built all over the world.
Russia was a superpower, post USSR every scholar worth their mettle would say Russia is a regional power. They lack global projection capabilities, have a dwindling number of their post USSR hardware, economy is crashing so they can't fund and build modern projects en masse. Ukraine war has dragged their reputation through the mud, western support came a full year after the initial attack which was supposed to be a 3 day operation. West supported Ukraine as Ukraine showed that it wanted to and could defend it's territory unlike what happened in Afghanistan.
If having nukes is the criteria for superpower then that should be a different test. Nukes in reality are just for rhetoric, having thousands or hundreds doesn't make a difference, all it needs is a couple dozen for annhilation of an nation.

Very well balanced comment. Thank you for your contribution

China's triumph in the chip war has proven that China can best the US one on one, and the US has to rely on its alliance.

China can build the 7nm chips from scratch, while the US cannot, this is an undeniable fact.

Russia is only the weakest superpower or a para-superpower, and he still ranks it far above India.

1.) USA - Political superpower, Economic superpower, Influential superpower, Landsize superpower (spans the artic with Alaska all the way down to its bases overseas), Military superpower, UN Veto Superpower, Logistical Superpower, Population Superpower, Education Superpower, Oil superpower, Proxy warfare superpower (IE, middle east proxies), immigration superpower (has bright minds from all around the world).

2.) China- Political superpower, Economic superpower, Influential superpower, Landsize superpower, Military superpower (nukes with ICBM is critical, along with the Chinese navy, and an overpowered landarmy), UN Veto Superpower, almost near logistical-Superpower, Population Superpower, Diaspora superpower, Education Superpower. China is not that good with military proxies, but Russia fills that gap for the China-Russia-Iran-North Korea axis. Russia has multiple proxies in the middle east, Africa and elsewhere, and is the only country aside from Iran (and to some degree Turkey in Syria and Pakistan in Afghanistan) to openly combat American and western presence in other countries. China counters the western presence through economical means while Russia conquers them through military means.

3.) Russia - A somewhat political superpower, economic superpower, influential superpower, landsize hyperpower (Borders all the way from Japan to Norway, the size of Russia is as big as Pluto and this allows it to span the artic, to Europe, to the Korean peninsula, also has bases over seas like the US), Military Superpower (only other nation aside from the US to possess massive of nuclear weapons with ICBMs, capable of destroying cities in a blink), UN Veto superpower, somewhat logistical capabilities, population superpower (but not as much as the above two), not-so-much an educations superpower but it has its soviet era history, Proxy warfare hyperpower, Oil superpower.

4.) Then there are countries such as:

A.) Israel who many say has control over the west and, in regard, becomes a superpower as well. If Israel was the size of China, Russia, the US, it would be even stronger than them some say. It has nukes as well, a strong military, good education and much more.
B.) The UK, ICBMS with nukes, nuclear submarine, UN veto power, position on the map, NATO defense, military hardware, political clout in many countries, etc.
C.) France, ICBMS with nukes, nuclear submarines, UN veto power, strong economy in Europe, NATO defense, military hardware, political clout in many countries (although that is recently fading away in Africa).
D.) Iran, Proxy warfare against the west, almost to the level that Russia has, long range missiles with heavy powerful, a strong army, strong geography, oil superpower, etc
E.) Saudi Arabia and the UAE, oil superpowers with strong economies and a lot of money
F.) Germany & Japan, strong economies, a lot of influence in many countries, well respected in many areas, etc.
G.) Turkey, strong military, strong geographical position, a leader who is willing, high population, etc
H.) India, population, nukes, big market, biggest diaspora in the world, largest troll army and internet bots who can influence trends and create lies, confusion, smart minds in and outside India, a space superpower, and much more
I.) Pakistan, population, importance of having nukes to protect itself against India and others and to create a shield against other Islamic countries, big diaspora, strong military, potentially a strong economy, etc
J.) many more great powers like Brazil, South Africa, Egypt, Algeria, Argentina, N.Korea, S.Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc

It is a good reflection on our flaws and weaknesses, and where we can improve it.

China's rise has been due to a lot of factors, I don't even blame them for reverse engineering and stealing trade secrets as US did the same by poaching nazi engineers and scientists post WW2.
I did read about Huawei's 7nm breakthrough but idk about efficiency and actual performance and if China can manufacture it at scale. Also China used DUV lithography which is older and harder to use for newer nm chips so mass production efficiency is a question mark.
Last I checked China succeded at mass production of 28nm chips.
Also regard US, most of EU, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan as one bloc. US designs, EU (Netherlands) supplies EUV lithography machines and Taiwans TSMC and South Korea's Samsung Foudries executes it. Mediatek and other big players are Taiwanese too. In a globalized world most oems go for these hardwares if they can. USA is finally building domestic foundries at home in case this geopolitics on semiconductors spill over Taiwan. TSMC is moving some factories to USA.

Yes I'm not even saying that Russia at its current stage is better overall. But dwindling economy, war economy is a huge burden on Russia, coupled with global sanctions they are not doing well right now. India's rise is by playing both sides in this post WW2 multipolar world. India is both a protectionist and globalist state. It is slowly but steadily growing in strength.

India is being overrated by you. It is a great power, but not a superpower by any means. Just like how many great powers like Saudis, Iran, etc dominate in certain fields, India also dominates in some fields. But India is not anywhere near a clout of Russia.

Nowhere did I say India is a super power. It is a regional power, it can only defend its territories in a war, we don't have global projection capabilities. All our advanced troop and vehicle carriers are western like American Chinooks and AC130s.
I meant to say that in coming era India would be more relevant geopolitically as Russia continues to get cut off from the globalized world.

The US right now believes that we use our indigenous technology to build the 7nm, but they are betting that we cannot mass produce it because we can only use the DUV to produce multilayer fabrication for the 7nm chips. They are trying to ban the ASML DUV, and thus we only have our indigenous 28nm DUV at disposal.

But soon you will see that the US is right this time or it is simply another miscalculation/blunder.

As for Russia, they have over thousand deployed nukes, and only 3 countries have over thousand deployed nukes; the US and Russia openly, whereas China has done that under the table.

So military and technology wise, Russia is only a weaker superpower compared to the US & China, but still vastly superior to others.

I'd argue that Russia is stronger than both China & even the US in many areas military wise. If push comes to shove, in WW3, Russia may come out on top, although there will be no winners. Russia has the most nukes, the longest range ICBMS, the strongest nukes, and the biggest landmass. In terms of nuke warfare, Russia dominates.

For example, if it was an all out war against Russia and China military wise, Russia would still obliterate a much richer, wealthier, and stronger land army China. Why? Just because of how overpowered nukes and missile ranges currently are. The US is the only country that could give Russia a challenge in this regard.

The US is actually more scared to go toe to toe against Russian military overseas than it is against China. Russia actually asserts itself overseas military wise. The US combats China's economic pressure all the time.

This is something that remains to be seen, I objectively stated the data available to me.

I don't think it matters if you have 5000 nukes or 200 nukes. Even if 10-20 get through which I'm understanding by a lot then bye bye to the said target nation. Nukes should never be used as MIRV and MAD would ensure total annihilation and would make a terrible precedent for humanity.

So military and technology wise, Russia is only a weaker superpower compared to the US & China, but still vastly superior to others.
See most of Russian hardware right now is from soviet times, their newer hardware either exists as prototype or in limited quantities. They can't afford to fund their projects in masse. India bought the said old hardware as it was lucrative for us in the past and our neighbour uses similar grade weapons. Western hardware is obviously better and pricier we began buying them when our relationship with west and economy began improving.
Russia uses India's large orders to fund their own projects, we were a big cash cow for them.

We feel that our original nuclear arsenal doesn't match our current status anymore, that's why we are ramping up like crazy.

Currently, black people, south Asians, and Muslims have begun to take over the United States and Europe.

Why did you leave east Asians out of this equation? East Asians have a big oversea diaspora in the west, too. Even in South America and Africa itself.

Also, what @ChineseTiger1986 means is that, during an actual WW3 scenario, Islam is the only other force willing to emerge as a dominate superpower. The Russians and Europeans (along with the US) are the only countries who asserted their superpower force. China does it too, but mostly through economic means. Islam is the only other force to reasonably assert a superpower status.

There is no winner in a global thermal nuclear war. Russian civilization can also come to an end. And a massive nuclear war no cities would be left. Millions would be dead in both countries

To think otherwise would be complete folly

No one would win a nuclear World War 3
