Tiananmen Square Anniversary Marked by Thousands

The problem with democracy in China today, is that all of the democracy preachers already took CIA money and preach not democracy but about the greatness of the US. This taints the reputation of the word "democracy". The CPC is not against democracy. Wen Jiabao even stated that democracy and socialism are not mutually exclusive, and that only democracy can save China. Yet the word "democracy" now has the added meaning of being a US muppet and spineless traitor.I find it funny how TruthSeeker questions that we're the "elite" of the PRC despite 800 million having internet access through phones and 400 million having internet access through computers, yet he never questions how India, a country where half the people don't even have electricity, has so many "non elite" online.

You're on a roll today, lots of good posts. I share the same concerns, democracy is truly a very desirable end, but the international democratizing movement has been subverted by the US as a means to cripple geopolitical rivals (not a conspiracy theory, it's happened before). This is the problem with China's democracy movement today. It's rather ironic if you think about it, these subverted democratizing attempts will likely end up to be a lasting obstacle to functional democracy in China and the ordinary westerners who truly wish China no ills and would like to see China democratized are now putting their weight behind a discredited and manipulated movement created by those who want to eliminate China as a geopolitical rival.

My utmost respect for the Hong-Kong protesters willing to stand up for their liberty and rights. As long as they have their phones out to upload and document this events, Beijing will not be able to use military actions on them because the whole world is currently watching and support their movement.
