The Turkish aid organization Kizilay (Turkish Red Crescent) is constructing a mosque in the Pakistan-administered Kashmir region.

The mosque is being built in Bagh province, one of the 4 provinces destroyed the most by the 2005 earthquake that hit the northern parts of Pakistan, officials told AA on Thursday.

The Ottoman style mosque will be delivered to Pakistan's Earthquake Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) once the construction is completed, officials added.

The construction work of Bagh Mosque was contracted to a Turkish construction company operating in Pakistan for 3.5 million Turkish liras (1 USD equals 1.54 TL) and it would have a capacity to accommodate 300 people, besides a guesthouse, a lodging facility and a teaching area for 250 students practicing the holy book of Islam, the Koran, sources said.

Bagh Mosque, constructed by Turkish architects and engineers, is expected to be inaugurated in September 2010.

Turkey is needlessly ruffling feathers before it has gotten to a significant rank. This would hurt diplomatic ties between us and Turks.

Let me post the next news......

Our neighbor raised concern on building a new mosque in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. :)

Looks like you were correct! What's wrong with building a mosque? Talk about paranoia

Nothing wrong with building mosque but building a mosque without the permission of real owner of land is definitely wrong.

Obviously they got permission from the AJK government to build the mosque or else they would not have been able to build it! Who else should they have asked, india?

Turkey is a souvereign State and decide by itself what it has to do, we let dictate our foreign Policy by India ! In my View Pakistan are more important for Turkey and Turkic World as Palastine, on our Pakistan Policy there will be no Compromise.

There are a another important Think what most Indians tend to forget, the Culture of pakistani People and the Country are strong influenced by Central Asian Turkic Culture. Pakistan is within Turkeys Backyard and strategic most important to Link central Asian Tukic Brother States to the Arabic Sea !

Aww how naive!

Turkey has no right to build anything in a region that is a part of our country without our permission. Since you want to call it 'disputed' even then Turkey has no right to make anything be it a mosque or a museum unless it obtains clearances from both you and us.

Taking "Permission" from a break-away illegal so-called government proves Turkey's future intentions and we'll make sure a similar diplomatic assault is considered when it comes to Cyprus.

This will be taken a note of in the next India-Turkey meeting and our already cold ties will become further strained.

correction: indian army atrocities in kashmir.
Typical of your kind: everyone being oppressed in all parts of the world and you being the torch bearers of their "freedom". From Russia to Thailand you find oppression while your country is reeling from internal conflicts.

Tell you what; don't meddle in others' affairs. You're not there yet to do so. This is a sincere advice with no sarcasm intended.

The more you nose into others matters, the more other countries will get involved in yours. Let's have a mutually clean policy.

So now if you are done with your ranting, can you also provide the details of all the projects that india started in IOK with Pakistan's consent. Or I can conveniently believe that the above was the case of some one having a verbal diarrhea.
