TRT-Arabi correspondent. The Arabic editorial has prepared a very good program on some of the ongoing programs in the Turkish defense industry, and there are nice clips not only on the M60TM modernization but also on some other systems.

Anyway, it has already undergone modernization after modernization since 2007, there is hardly any part of the tank that has not changed. lol. And with the latest additional capabilities, it has been brought to one of the best spots among the tank classes currently in service in the world.

I'm a bigger fan of Roketsan's 2-man turret. I think it could be upgraded with Rheinmetall 130mm gun.

Lower weight, higher firepower.

That's all that's missing lol, the current combat weight of the tank after latest modernization is probably close to Altay. :D

And it doesn't have an engine as powerful as Altay's.

Sooner or later we will have to move on to an autoloading turret anyway. Now is a good time as any.

35mm effective range is 4-5km, vs. 2-3km of 30mm.

The line of sight on a flat terrain is 5km. If you are on a very tall vehicle, like Patton, at most you will see tops of similarly tall vehicles at that distance, so range past 5km is pretty much inconsequential with direct fire weapons.

Bigger calibres will long past the line of sight on flat terrain, and will only be able to extract more range advantage if fired from some hill

it's not the range, it's the types of ammo that's available in 35mm that makes the difference.
