Featured US sixth gen fighter making rapid progress, to enter service by end of decade

The reason the U.S. crew is larger is to accommodate handling 24 hour shifts running the submarine and more preferable damage control in case something happens. And the Virginia Block 5 will have 40 missiles, even possible hypersonic missiles.

Currently Yasen packs the biggest missile load with 40 VLS cells while Block V Virginia seems to have 12 VLS cells. It's not even close. And it makes sense considering Yasen is quite a bit longer than Virginia and was built as SSGN from the get go.

You haven't looked at the Block V.

Okay well, the moral of the story is F-22 fell behind because others surpassed it. Everyone agrees J-20 is far more advanced than F-22 today. F-22 will be retired come 2030.

Yasen M is far more potent than Block V Virginia. 40 VLS compared to 12 VLS. 130 meters long compared to 115 meters long.

Ok whatever you say.

If people don't stop off topic trolling, they will be sent on a few days forced leave.

Stay on the topic. This is a soft warning, I will start issuing infraction in the next round.
Try that on @BATMAN ... he has been doing it everywhere and allowed to do it

J-20 is far superior to F-22A. In terms of aerodynamics, avionics, network fusion. F-22A is early 2000 tech. J-20 is 2010s tech. The only chance F-22 had is if they develop F-22B which never materialized.
You need to stop making unsubstantiated claims. Avionics architecture of F-22A Raptor is a generational leap from the same (i.e. avionics architecture) of other jet fighters (LEGACY) to enable extraordinary levels of sensor fusion for the pilot. This is one of the core aspects of F-22A being 5th generation strike platform. This technology was PORTED to F-35 variants in large part. China also learned from these developments and perhaps you know "how."

China is in the process of making J-20 at par with American 5th generation jet fighters in various aspects which is impressive development in its own right; China have surpassed Russia in computation methods and tooling processes towards this end. J-20 will be a force-to-be-reckoned with in its latest configuration in potential aerial clashes (credit where due), but I would stop at this.

Pentagon is now regulating numerous developments to curb information leaks and 6th generation technologies are largely unknown in Public domain. Now others will keep guessing.

Nothing to do with China.
The F-22 is expensive to operate and with production capped we never reached the economies of scale to continue operating the F-22 as originally intended.

Be that as it may, of course China is a factor behind this.

Lets examine some facts:

1) Starting with the initial move of Obama's "Pivot to Asia" in the early 2010's serving as a overall chronological framework for the following points.

2) The emphasis by the US in terms of the Indo-Pacific strategy and the Quad concept.

3) The US military leadership making statements signally a shift in threat perception from non state actors to focus on other nation states i.e Russia and China. ex. Mattis's 2018 comments regarding National Defence Strategy marking a return to the tri-polar world.

4) The "cat of of the bag" phenomenon under Trump where he didn't really mince words when it came to China. This is significant as now the general American public was made aware of the things that were happening shaping the public perception of things to come.

5) Shifting from a strategic basis to more tactical ones. The increasing emphasis by the US military on fighting in the Pacific.

6) In terms of the USAF, I'm referring to PACAF ACE and the shift to the mobile fight utilizing islands in the Pacific.

7) In the previous framework, of course the US needs to organize itself and analyze what it needs to shift to carry out these new strategies and tactics.

8) Thus, we come to this point, the secret emergence of a six-generation fighter which in all likelihood attempts to rectify the shortcomings of current US hardware in regards to the new reality of a near peer China.

9) Remember when the J-20 was only the J-XX in USNI sketches, in the mid to late 90's, the US did NOT expect it to fly and materialize as it did.

10) The F-22 only came into service in 2005 and was built for a different fight, i.e. USSR/Russia and over Europe.

11) The requirements changed and thus we have what is referenced in the original article for this thread.
Including the "early" retirement of the F-22 while keeping new build Eagle II and late block F-16s in service.

12) So, yea I would say China had something to do with it.

Baby Raptor inshaAllah will continue the legacy of F 22 Raptor as the most potent fighter in the world.
