What happened to Pakistan's drones ??

Where the heck Pakistan supposed to develop own drones with the addition of armed missiles ? After Shamsi Airbase closed, it seems Pakistan is powerless to prevent US predator drones -
Look at Pakistan's five year-old plan for N. Wazirstan, it includes drone deployments. link Perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to blame the Americans for action and the PA for inaction?

Keep dreaming ....... US already have decided to crave out balochistan out of pakistan to gain access to Central Asia for trade and to be in Iran's backyard ........Its simple for them be ally of US or they will create An ally of US if needed..;)
Well said man. And for the pakistan they can tell the world that they own the predators aswell because it flys from pakistan, kills in pakistan, land back in pakistan. Conclusion pakistan has most advanced drones in the world.:D

We also license produce Selex Galileo.

Nope. this drone is simple suvillences which was used in SWAT offensive. Just spy video locating on terrorists. Pakistan Army requested armed missiles that was rejected by Italy. We had more than 24 Selex Gelileo but useless sting rays and garbages.

Please dont fool yourselves.
There is no UCAV program under development in Pakistan.

We are in a sorry pathatic state. Many types of sensors mounted on different types of tactical drones are sitting in cold starages of all three forces, and none is making use of them.

You know, living in denial is unhealthy.

Not that I'm suggesting that Pakistan has domestically developed armed drones, but it is currently researching and developing them, with the help of China and probably Turkey too.

also, as an elite member, you should know to avoid digging up old thread.

Turkey is NATO and they wont anger their friends by entering into a weapons research program with Pakistan.
China is already manufacturing UCAV and has no need to join hands with Pakistan.

You seem to have very skewed logic there, friend.

The Turks are already cooperating with drone development with Pakistan (Pakistan is making drone parts for the Anka), and supplying Pakistan with military equipment. Why would cooperating with Pakistan anger NATO, which is fractured. France sells Pakistan military equipment, the UK has been starting to discuss military cooperation, the US sells it's military equipment to Pakistan, I really don't see the problem here.

China already manufactures UCAVs, which is why Pakistan is getting help from them. China has already cooperated with Pakistan to develop multiple weapons systems, the most notable one being the JF-17 thunder. This help isn't for China's benefit (though they do get some benefits), it's for Pakistan's benefit.

You will laugh if i tell you exactly what UAV Parts Pakistan is exporting to Turkey.
Thats not a joint venture, and none of those parts are for a UCAV, all are for UAV.
China's Wing loong UCAV is up and running, and is offered to Pakistan,so thats not a joint venture either.
Until the day Pakistan has her own geo stationary satellite dedicated for military communications....forget about a UCAV.
Pakistan armed forces top brass currently has no clue how and where to use the abundantly available made in Pakistan UAVs, and whatever they have is hardly ever used.
Made in Pakistan C-41 secure communication systems are available.......

Oh what the hell.... I shouldnt be writing such long comments.

In short its a matter of military planning, finances and will to deploy drones . None of that is there...
To be honest Pakistan does not need joint venture with any country for UCAV, can do it ourselves.

The only joint venture currently going on is with Malaysia and thats a ToT from Pakistan to Malaysia , not the other way round.

Burraq is operational but its not been disclosed since many years. I am sure that it would be available in turbo props as well as jet version too...

Pakistan is making Burraq UAV equipped with missiles, but US won't give Pakistan a Predator drone.

Preparation for the assault

Predator unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flew over Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa on July 8 and 9, capturing images of the deployment of people inside.[30] Security forces had the images taken to study the claims of Ghazi Abdul Rashid regarding casualties and damage caused to Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa.[30] The UAVs flew over Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa for more than an hour, from 2:40 to 4:00 am.[30] Senior government officials and the Security Forces personnel examined the pictures and relayed the information directly to the command post on the ground.[30] The UAV was given to Pakistan by the United States for use in the War on Terror.

facts are different from your opinions.

You took out the old thread?

Have you heard Pakistan and Beidou Satellite are working out, do you know Pakistan has adopted Chinese GPS over unreliable distrust US GPS? Obviously Pakistan is trying to make it work with UAVs.

Pakistan’s satellite capabilities are at a very early stage, however, so no such decision is expected soon.

While relying on Chinese satellite assets would seem highly advantageous, Quintana highlights some drawbacks.

“Using Chinese SATCOM would definitely hinder the Pakistanis from obtaining U.S. equipment that requires the use of SATCOM — MALE [medium-altitude, long-endurance] UAVs, such as Predator, for example,” she said.

Such an arrangement would give Beijing considerable influence over its South Asian ally.

“This is the problem for any small nation wishing to take advantage of investments that larger, more powerful allies have already made,” Quintana said.

Benefits Pakistan could derive from sharing bandwidth on a Chinese satellite, Quintana said, include access to a dedicated asset it may not be able to acquire for itself and access to China’s Beidou satellites. And in times of conflict, an enemy might refrain from attacking these assets for fear of drawing China into the fight.

“Additionally, if Pakistani systems utilize multiple [positioning, navigating and targeting] systems Beidou/GPS/Glonass/Galileo, it enhances resilience in the event of service failure or jamming,” Quintana said.

Having access to Chinese satellites would give Pakistan a signals relay capability, the lack of which has hindered the operation of MALE and high-altitude, long-endurance (HALE) UAVs.

The data-link range of Pakistan’s tactical UAVs is stated as 200 to 250 kilometers.

Raja Sabri Khan, chief executive of Integrated Dynamics, a high-profile Pakistan UAV developer, said designing new types with the “performances to allow utilization of satellite communication links to their fullest potential” could become reality with a SATCOM capability.

All of the technological building blocks and technologies to develop MALE UAVs are in place, he said.

^^^ Beidou is currently less accurate than Gps but Pakistan operates ground starion for Beidou,so its a give and take between china and Pakistan.
Beidou and other positioning satellite constellations need geographically distributed satellite tracking and data uplink stations, and SUPARCO does it for the chinese. So china needs Pakistan for Beidou hence all cooperation is there.....but does she need us for UCAV?
I guess not and no joint venture is there.

Chinese satellites can be used for secure communications and recently china has reserved some bandwidth/frequency spectrum for Pakistan...
May be @Oscar can commemt on how freeing up bandwidth for Pakistan will help in UCAV development.
C-41 military standars communication hardware and software is locally made in Pakistan.
Can it be used for UCAV via chinese satellites?

so we can attack and spy on enemy countries for example india and israel.

Went a bit too far with Israel, didn't we?

Well on the contrary you should try stopping US drone attacks. You military top brass and Government have already sold the sovereignty of your country in golden plate to external powers. Forget dreaming about using drone to attack or even spy on Israel or India:no:- just in dreams maybe.

You willing to buy Azad Kashmir?

Keep dreaming ....... US already have decided to crave out balochistan out of pakistan to gain access to Central Asia for trade and to be in Iran's backyard ........Its simple for them be ally of US or they will create An ally of US if needed..;)

Maybe you can carve out Azad Kashmir too, I mean after all these things are a piece of cake apparently!
