The U.S. Wants to Save the World From Terrorism, Who Will Save the World from the U.S.?

The arrogance and the false air of superiority with which the U.S. government behaves in the contemporary world, besides tiring, are becoming a danger to the survival of humanity. To my knowledge, except for the few countries whose governments maintain a totally submissive stance to the interests of Americans (and I refer to the heads of Colombia, Costa Rica, Saudi Arabia and South Korea as the most significant examples), none of us mortals gave procuration to Washington to think and act on our behalf.

This "fight against terrorism," to "defend democracy" and the "war on drugs" already does not convince anyone. Who wants to cheat Uncle Sam? Fight against terrorism? But who armed the Taliban? Who created Osama Bin Laden? Who tortures innocents in Guantanamo Bay? Who supported the majority of the military coups in Latin America in the '50s, '60s and '70s and the recent coup in Honduras? Who supported Operation Condor and practiced terrorist attacks in the Southern Cone? Who financed terrorists like Posada Carriles, who lives in exile in the U.S.?

"Democracy"? But what kind of democracy are we talking about, pale face? That monster who pays salaries to executives for fraudulent statements and balance sheets to fool American society itself? That democracy whose banks launder drug money? That democracy that sends ten thousand soldiers for "humanitarian aid" to Haiti? That democracy that kills innocent civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan? That democracy that supports the ignominy of Israel against the Palestinians?

"Do they fight drug trafficking? But what is, according to the UN itself, the country that consumes the most of the world's hard drugs such as opium and cocaine? Whose profits are already 400 billion dollars annually, dirty money, but legally laundered in some of the major banks of Uncle Sam? Does dirty money, which is already suspect, finance CIA operations "around the world"?

This particular item, the "fight against drug trafficking" brings up a few questions that they want to silence: what does the largest consumer of drugs in the world need? Drugs, of course, answers the counselor, Acacio. Where is the most opium produced? AFGHANISTAN. Which produces the most cocaine? COLOMBIA. Very good.

Let's investigate a little more. How do you get the opium to the United States of America in great quantity and security, if there is a war and invasion of Afghanistan and the country is under the control of the U.S. Armed Forces? How does cocaine leave Colombia in quantity and safety, if much of the territory is guarded by the Colombian army and seven U.S. military bases with the most sophisticated weaponry and surveillance systems in the world?
Contain these stories for others ... Up to when will the world be forced to coexist with thishypocrisy, with so many lies and so much trickery as if we were all idiots who do not know what we want? Or are we?

The drama is real for all, while poor American society is becoming increasingly ill, partly alienated by drugs, partly by brainwashing its citizens who suffer the media, and partly also by having to support almost full-time their young leaving for one war after another.
In the first half of 2010, 145 American soldiers committed suicide in Iraq and Afghanistan. And there were 1,713 who attempted suicide. Who will save the world from the United States of America? Translated from the Portuguese version - Izaías Almada is a writer and columnist for the NR

Don't you think this not an appropriate time for being hostile to the US??

To expect gratitude from those who would spit on the hands that help them, is too high a demand.
Really? I've seen plenty of Pakistani members being grateful for the aid provided by UK, US, and even India. Just visit those threads.

Plus, does one good thing wipe out every other bad things a country has done? In that case, Saudi Arabia has done nothing wrong since they've give 100+ million so far.

I'm talking about the people(a few) who would criticize India's Aid as propaganda machine and would post article like this when Pakistan is being extensively helped by America.

Most are happy with the help they are getting but a few can't get over their ego's and would rather let their country starve and suffer than accept help.

Thankfully such type of people are a minority and the majority of people are level headed.

------------------
The timing is the issue when some one who has wronged you comes to your aid when you are sinking in quick sand would you say Thank-you or would you say you wronged me in the past.

Their is a time for every thing ,now is not the time for America bashing.

The picture is part of a bigger political battle that Obama envision in Pakistan. Fortunately for them and unfortunately for my country, this has come to be the best option they have to mend their ties.

20 years of ***** slapping foreign policy with Pakistan and now just a few helicopters?

It's never too late to be hostile to them.

We welcome our American friends' help, but it has come too little too late for a natural disaster that has ravaged most of Pakistan.

Werent they the first and the still the largest fleet of helicopters?

Not commenting about your complicated relationship...just the timing seemed inappropriate.

Some truths and some exaggerations. If you start examining history, all countries have some black spots. But to just target the US shows a lot of insecurity.

Two questions you need to ask of yourself:

- Can the world exist without a "policeman" a.k.a. bully?
- If yes, which country would you like to see performing that role? Don't respond out of emotion or naivety.

Compare that "fleet" with the past 20 years.....it's more of a political game.

Pakistan sent a C-130 aircraft and medical personal to USA after their Katrina disaster.

What i mean to say is that we welcome their help.....but people are just so paranoia.

You can talk all you want, but the main thing about Pak-US relatons is that you have to experience it to know about it's repercussions. I guess only Iranians and Pakistanis have experienced that, not you.

What's the problem? According to you, we will just implode from our own wickedness. China, the all-weather friend, will rise up and befriend the world, ushering in the final stage of nirvana on earth for all mankind.

The Latin American countries know far better about what the govt of that country mentioned in the OP stands for.

The OP article is correct in its analysis.

Actually, that doesn't seem that bleak of an outlook at all...

It is fashionable to cuss the US and blame it for all ills. Nations often do this little realizing that were it not for their endemic problems like instability, religious fundamentalism & poor governance there would be no need for the US or any other nation - China , Russia etc to provide help and help always comes with strings unless its comes from parents.

It would be a whole lot better for those who wonder who will save the world from US or any other donor country to work out ways for them to save themselves from their own failings.

No one can ride your back unless its bent.

China does not want to be the "world policeman".

Being the world policeman is a terrible job... it costs billions and billions of dollars every year... and everyone just ends up hating you anyway.

I think this quote from Deng Xiaoping sums it up:

"Keep a cool head and maintain a low profile. Never take the lead - but aim to do something big."
