On August 25, US Vice President Kamala Harris attended the signing ceremony of a land lease agreement to build the new headquarters of the US Embassy in Hanoi.

As a symbol of an important milestone in the diplomatic relationship between the US and Vietnam, the US Embassy complex - planned to be built in Hanoi - is a modern urban space embodying culture and vitality. of the city. The new embassy headquarters will ensure that the US diplomatic mission in Hanoi will be located in a position that can support and become a symbol of cooperation, friendship, and development for many years .

Located on a dynamic boulevard, this 3.2-hectare complex is nestled between the bustling city space and the peaceful Cau Giay park. The building's design is inspired by Ha Long Bay, and represents a forward-looking, dynamic, adaptive, and transparent approach to US foreign policy.

The landscape design of the embassy complex is inspired by the traditions of horticulture and rice production, such as the topography of the Mekong Delta and the Red River Delta, and has a connection to the capital's history. features of the area where the complex is located, which was originally a rice field in the early 2000s.

After the US and Vietnam normalized diplomatic relations in 1995, the Vietnamese Government committed to give the US a site to build the embassy complex in Hanoi. Continuing to build on the growing partnership between the two countries, the US and Vietnam reached an agreement on the current location for the new embassy headquarters in 2019.

Earlier this year, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the leasing of the site to the US and issued a decision to lease the land. The signing ceremony of the land lease agreement on August 25 is the result of these commitments between the two countries.

Currently, the process of site selection and planning has been completed, the project is in the design process to closely combine the elements of architecture, safety and scale requirements to create a space. working to ensure security, modernity and sustainability for agencies and employees of the US Government. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at a suitable time in the future.

According to the US Embassy in Vietnam, the new embassy headquarters will be a testament to the pioneering of environmental sustainability and climate adaptability. The interior equipment will ensure health and energy savings through the use of sustainable materials with a high percentage of recycled materials, low carbon emissions and organic compounds. low volatile organic matter (VOC).

The Department of Overseas Operations (OBO) and the US Department of State are committed to meeting high environmental and sustainability standards in Hanoi and around the world, building on achievements in the field. this for many decades.

The budget to build the new headquarters of the US Embassy is 1.2 billion USD. Construction scale 39,000m2 on an area of 3.2 hectares. Washington D.C.-based EYP Architecture & Engineering Group is the architect, working with a diverse team of professionals to deliver cutting-edge engineering and design solutions.

A key goal of the design team was to incorporate design elements from both the US and Vietnam, including artwork by American, Vietnamese and Vietnamese-American artists. The design of the Embassy will become a solid symbol of the important relationship between the US and Vietnam.

For a state-of-the-art fortress, the new US embassy in London features one security measure that is distinctly old-fashioned — the first moat to be built in England since the 19th century.

Costing a billion dollars, the 12-floor cube in Nine Elms, which was shown off for the first time yesterday, is the most expensive embassy yet built.

It boasts some of the most high-tech defences in the world, including triple-glazed and blast-proof glass walls, raised terraces and sunken trenches instead of a wire fence, and a Faraday cage — a mesh of conductive material to prevent electronic eavesdropping.

CIA was deceived by VN spies during VN war and we all knew US finally were defeated in VN in 1975 .

Nothing special abt CIA, they r just a loser in VN.

that was when Vietnam and the US were at war

this CIA facility would be aimed at China
Thats true, just like I already explained.

New US embassy mainly is the symbol for a better economic tie between VN and US. US don't wanna keep buying products from CN when CN keep dreaming that they will become No 1 soon. US wanna buy those stuff from other nations and VN is the best choice for setting up new manufacturing Hub.

Its all abt economic matter, not much thing abt politic or military conflict when build this new embassy.

CN army is just a cheap joke, their generals only know one idiot human wave attack tactic like when CN attack VN in 1979. We don't need help from US just to fight against CN.

China reducing its armed forces by hundreds of thousands.
China investing heavily in Missile arsenal.
China investing heavily in Destroyers, support ships and Aircraft carriers.
China investing heavily in Airforce. building 100+ (J-16, J-10, J-11, J-20, FC-31 etc).
China even heavily investing in Communication and surveillance using sattelite system, quantum computers etc..

all these doesn't show preparedness of "Human wave attack". All these are modern military solutions set to win a modern warfare.

If you say so. and i hope you are right. i was just wondering because even with such old relation and completely aligned economies you still see US's UK embassy of this size.

The US is going to try and fight China to the last vietnamese... they have absolutely no affection for a country whom they literally killed around 10% ~ of its entire civilian population......

If you think being a US pawn is going to get you anywhere longterm, then vietnams going to be in for a nasty surprise.... and its really sad... one of the greatest anti-imperialist countries on earth, that i have enormous respect for....

is slowly giving away their hard won independence to that same enemy they kicked out... in the name of containing a different enemy (china) . China is your very large neighbour. its not going anywhere. you need to learn to live with China...

the US is a nothing artificial 200 year old country. that goes around causing mass destruction on anything it touches, before going away and retreating back home in humiliation.... to put your eggs in the american basket long term is a deadly recipe.. ho chi minh must be rolling in his grave. south vietnam might as well have won the war...the geopolitical outcome would have apparently been the same... just vietnam would be a weak banana republic 100% dependent on the US

U are bias, when CN bow down and begged help from US, u said Nothing, but when US wanna have better relationships wt VN, then u start talking nonsense.

Why don't u accuse CN for being US's pawn since 1979 when US used CN as the cannon fodder to destroy Soviet to the last Cnese ??

During VN war, US had much more warships, carriers than CN now, and they still lost,.

In the last VN-CN conflictin 2014 , CN lost and had to retreat shamelessly, their weapons are useless

... Anyone who can control 80% of SCS(east VN sea) will control the economy of East Asia and South East asia. ...
That's strange.

According to your understanding Vietnam controls East Vietnam Sea, therefore, it should have one of the largest economies on Earth. So how has China managed to have a nearly 47 times larger economy than that of Vietnam without needing to control East Vietnam Sea?

China Nominal GDP: $16.6 trillion
Vietnam Nominal GDP: $355 billion

Don't you think you're putting too much emphasis on the magical East Vietnam Sea?

So US will bring democracy to Vietnam, with their CIA camp, with the expense of millions Vietnamese life? Will Hongkong 2019 happen again in Vietnam? I hope not. I still want to read some of Viva Viet trolling joke in here.
