Will no longer seek Pakistan’s help in peace talks: Afghan president

Befkre blaming us they should first look at their soldiers defecting to taliban

Finally after a long time he realized this

Describing the Taliban as ‘ignorant’, the Afghan president said there is no difference between good terrorists and bad terrorists and that Pakistan should act as a responsible government. Ghani also labelled the Islamic State, Haqqani network and certain segments of the Taliban as ‘enemies’ of Afghanistan.

:yahoo: this is the political definition of a tight slap . Afghanistan should also sue for war crimes after they get their economy up . Pakistans hegemony in Afghanistan internal politics & underground Nexus will eventually die .

LOL Keep dreaming like Afghan PM. by the way you have Kalboshan yadav to be worried about. his partner has been arrested in Iran as well. :P

Ghani was a very PRO-Pakistani Afghan president in the recent time he has even signed an agreement between NDS-ISI for intelligence sharing and he tried every possible way to appease you guys and make peace with Pakistan .Now if this guy is badmouthing Pakistan then you guys should introspect on what went wrong instead of using your favorite sentence He is a RAW agent

Until and unless these haramkhor Afghans doesn't eradicate TTP from their soil Pak shouldn't not act against Afghan Taliban. This should be tit for tat policy moving forward. They have not acted against any single TTP militant in their region.

Ghani is just doing the lip service. He doesn't have power outside Kabul anyways.

Our government should learn a little Dignity and respect for neighbours, As when one cannot leave in peace when he is in war with his neighbour, This is common sense.. Look at the fruits we are getting what we had sowed 2 decades back !

He is under pressure because of Hamid karzai and company. Despite fixing its country now he is using ISI as famous escape goat.
the same border crossing issue is also with Pakistan but we installed ground survilance radars on border and checkposts to secure it as much as possible. and we cleared our areas and now PA is standing at very last Afghanistan border. What is Afghan army progress on that. they are leaving the captured areas even. In this situation if Ashraf ghani blames Pakistan and thinks that the world is blind and dumb then i think he is trying to humiliate himself, noting else.

why do I need to dream when it's happening right before your eyes ?

“Pakistan had promised to aid peace talks but we no longer expect Islamabad to bring Afghan Taliban to the negotiating table,” Ghani said while addressing a joint session of the Afghan parliament. The Afghan president’s rare address to the joint session was aired live on state and private TV channels.

Pakistan hopes to broker Taliban-Kabul talks this month

We want Pakistan to honour its commitment and take military action against the Afghan Taliban. We want them to handover the Taliban to the Afghan government so we can try them in Sharia courts,” Ghani said.

Pakistan is trying to facilitate peace talks, to expect it to have taken a military action against the ghost leadership of Afghan Taliban at the same time is unrealistic at the least and otherwise a deliberate attempt to distort factual positions to start a blame game.
At maximum a couple of middle tier leaders may have been exposed temporarily after making contact with them for talks, an attempt to capture these small fries may be futile and would not yield much in case of success either.
Not only would it ensure that there is no more peace talk prospect but it would not impact the Afghan Taliban in any way. Even Mullah Omar's death has not dented these people.
Where is the Afghan government's responsibility in dealing with Taliban?
They are operating with impunity and yet all is Pakistan's fault.
TTP's most vicious chapter is operating from Afghanistan and perpetrated the APS massacre. However that did not absolve Pakistan of responsibility...how come the Afghan Government finds it so easy to hide its own inadequacies and dupe its own people?
Maybe it is a combined Afghan US tactic to pressure Pakistan at one hand and keeping domestic criticism at bay on the other hand, by portraying that the current Afghan regime is only struggling due to alleged cross border planning and is otherwise an efficient machine which has performed well.
Unfortunately this far from the truth. This posturing only suits the insurgent who love to exploit this porous border with the knowledge that the ensuing blame game shall ensure a lack of coordination and cooperation.

As per the president, there should be no difference in approach regarding the terrorists (read militants) when it comes to Pakistan.
How come the president contradicts himself when he says that only certain segments of the Taliban are enemies of Afghanistan?
As per his sweeping statements regarding Pakistan, it is implied that the Afghan Taliban need to be dealt with by Pakistan as a whole terrorist horde; without exceptions.
However when it comes to Afghanistan, they shall be selecting few Taliban who are the enemies of Afghanistan!
Is this a clear stance?
There is a lot of confusion and hypocrisy in this message which only helps the extremists.
Does he consider Fazlullah a friend of Afghanistan who is only attacking Pakistan?

Ghani’s comments come as the relationship between the two neighbouring countries deteriorates once again following a deadly attack on Afghan security agency headquarters in Kabul on April 19.

Countries to negotiate for Afghan peace process in mid-January

An Afghan presidential spokesperson accused the Haqqani Network of planning the attack in Pakistan with help from foreign intelligence circles. Afghan Taliban had claimed responsibility for the attack.

So the Afghan Taliban spokesman accepting and owning the action has no bearing when it comes to an attack.
Somehow all attacks are planned by Haqqani despite Army currently overrunning North Waziristan?
Without Haqqani, no attack is carried out by Taliban?

Most of Haqqani brothers are dead and their network on Pakistan's side has been damaged extensively in past year or so, much more so after the recent North Waziristan operation...it is not like they are as powerful as they used to be few years back.
It is also not possible that Afghan Taliban are nothing without Haqqani...history proves that the Afghan Taliban have a significant support network in Afghanistan even without Haqqani.
Has this been disrupted or damaged enough to rule out a major Afghan Taliban attack?

I guess time will reveal more, however these statements could not come at a worse time and their tone is perhaps highly detrimental to the formation of a cooperative environment. With Pakistan pressing networks in North Waziristan, this was the ideal time for Afghanistan to help and not criticize.

Only with long term collaboration can we deal with all these networks who can operate on both sides of the border and create a very complex environment where trust is hard to come by.
It is highly unfortunate that just one attack is allowed to jeopardize a collaborative environment at a critical juncture in our troubled history.

India is not involved in the Afghan mess. Indian aid is limited to economic reconstruction and collecting intel on the bad guys.

I cannot say that for Pakistan
Really, If India had not suported the minority Northerns Afghanistan would not have been such a mess. If India had not used its presence in Afghanistan to work against Pakistan and Pushtoons Afghanistan would have been relatively smaller mess and now you are happy with results at the cost of Aghanistan's current situation?
