PAF to induct 188 JF-17 aircrafts including 26 JF-17B & 50 JF-17 Blk3

A sim usually cost same as 3-4 aircraft initial cost, but long run it cost less to train so some airforces may want actual aircraft especially such as Nigeria with max a sqn to buy

If jf17 block 2 can deal with su30mki and mirage 2000 the jf17 block 3 will be a bitch to handle. Why waste money when u have a beast at home.

It is not the JF17 that won the skirmish---it was the support package flying behind the JF17 that gave it the upper hand---.

Support packages was flying all around Pakistan at that time. From Karachi to skardu. Now please specify which support package are you referring to here?

AWAC or air superiority? Or ground support.
 
I think this block 3 introduction move came right after IAF decides to acquire rafales this september.
Any pics of block 3 or i assume the design is exactly the same?Single or twin engine?

HE means F-16 on LOC @BHarwana
F-16 is not support aircraft bro. They are air superiority or ground attack in whole multirole. I fail to understand how is F-16 considered support. He should have said cover fire could have been provided by F-16. Support can be referred to as AWAC, mid air refueling and EW. None of those roles are in F-16 and JF-17 can also do cover as good as an F-16. BVR of JF-17 is also deadly.

So who gave cover don't matter that role can be done by all jets in inventory.

Not denying tho that F-16 is not good but more credit goes to the attack and cover strategy and that is result of USA and PAF joint training. That is something @MastanKhan should give credit to. USA learned a lot from Pakistan and Pakistan learned a lot from USA in cold war days. In reality Pakistan know more about F-16 air to air role than USA as Pakistan uses it more and has cold war experience in Soviet Afghan war time.

Before jumping on my comments---should have waited for my reply---.
 
Both for the F-22 and F-35 the sims are doing just that, and the latter is going to be in the 2000 production range.

The problem for the PAF is that the other ecosystem for training- from basic to AJT and LIFT is getting outdated.

The USAF will have a LIFT that will mimic the F-35 whereas the PAF was never able to get an asset to do so.
F22 is only for USAF while F35 is intended for export but limited to very highly trained airforces plus it is essentially and LM system while JF17 is a new system and other countries have no prior experience with it thus simulator may not replace it
 
The B’s have come about with the recent ASR review. The simulators were sufficient but they required conversion to be centered around the base and added more time to the process -
Moreover, until now most Jf pilots come from other squadrons after a stint since we did not have them in numbers.

After evaluating the B it made sense to add it into the line since we will have fresh hands hitting the JF which could be rolled into the type faster with a B rather than just a simulator.

For 150 JF-17s, it could still be done through a simulator but it would take a higher number of hours. The same way it is done for the F-35.
However, having a B model gives additional flexibility especially when students may roll into the Block-3 since as mentioned by many here; the JF-17B is essentially the block 3.

I thought the PAF was after a LIFT platform in order to reduce engine cycles on front line fighters? Please correct me, but a LIFT has a low cost, low maintenance afterburner to give students their first taste of handling AB. So the intention was

Turbo propeller : Super Mushshak
Turbofan: K-8
Turbofan + Afterburner: LIFT

At least that's my understanding of where LIFT fits internationally.
