ISLAMABAD - The federal government has decided to outsource all major airports of Pakistan while a final approval is yet to be given by the cabinet, local media reported.

A summary, according to express news, would be presented in the cabinet meeting to be held on Tuesday for approval. The cabinet will take up six-point agenda including outsourcing the all major airports.

The meeting would also give approval for the appointment of chairman of the Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), besides considering summaries regarding federal consolidation fund and public accounts’ custody and operations.

A summary related to water distribution and measurement through tele matric monitoring will also be come under discussion during the meeting, which will also discussed other important matters.

Airports are gateways to the country and currently Pakistani airports with the exception of Islamabad present a picture of neglect and corruption.

I presume that government employees will be handling immigration and customs.

No country outsource such sensitive services.

You will definitely have better facilities at airports but corruption by officers may not be affected by privatisation.

I cannot comment on whether this news is good or bad without more information but 2 things :
1) Final approval still have to be given based on OP news
2) Your comment on no country outsource such sensitive service shows you don't know much because Australia very recently were discussing about outsourcing the visa processing system

No Idiot. Pakistan government decides who enters and leaves, private companies just run the operations. Just like a private airline can take and bring passengers from an airport, but they don't decide who can

so now private companies will decide who enters and leaves Pakistan?

i understand that you have no problems with existing Canadian privacy laws but think for one second beyond promise of gold honey oil and a 20 year younger wife

How did you reach that conclusion? Managing Immigration and managing airports are two different things.

CAA and FIA regulate flights and passengers.
You would make a quick progression from mere data and service handling to full on private Iqamas within a week.

What operations need be outsourcing? The trash services, the cab service or security?

I am targeting the next progressive target of the enlightenment age

Do you think those are the only things happening at airports? Come on you can do better
how about the handling of planes like landing, parking, taking off? how about luggage handling, how about fueling ops, how about passenger handling, how about various services provided to planes?

Maybe google what happens at a typical airport, how do they generate revenue?
