South Korean Probe Finds No Link Between AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine And Deaths

My parents are the only ones in my area who have had the covid vaccine that I know off, however I have heard of others having serious side effects.
Hope they get well soon.
In India, people above age 60 are getting the vaccines at the moment. Some are getting Astrazeneca and others Covaxin (designed and manufactured by Indian company). Percentage of people with serious side effects are miniscule till now.

In the uk they are giving 3 different vaccines, astra being the one my parents were given.

My parents had AstraZeneca. Nurse said no one had serious side effects to it in U.K. Only at max a temperature for day or 2.
So people can choose which one to get, or is it just take what is being given?

You can't choose in UK only given whatever your local surgery has.

Nope no one can choose, depends on the centre your going to I guess, but I think astra is the most common one.

South Korea's mass immunization campaign is picking up pace amid safety concerns. While no direct link is found, three more post-vaccination deaths reported, all of them AstraZeneca's. Authorities are following up with meticulous investigations. In Germany, there's a changing stance on the AstraZeneca vaccine, allowing over-65s to receive the jab, claiming recent studies provided enough data. Kim Dami has our top story. Three more AstraZeneca vaccine recipients died on Thursday, two were in their 50s and one was in their 20s. Both of those in their 50s were patients at nursing hospitals in Jeollabuk-do Province and had underlying conditions.... cardiovascular disease and diabetes. While the first patient died two days after getting the shot, the second person died just one day after. The person in their 20s, who suffered from epilepsy, died at a nursing hospital in the city of Daejeon... two days after being given the vaccine. This brings the country's total vaccine deaths to five. While health authorities believe there is no causal effect, the country's Prime Minister has vowed for a full investigation. "The government will thoroughly investigate the deaths and openly share the results. So please believe in the government and get your vaccine shots." 515 new cases of AstraZeneca vaccine side effects were filed on Thursday, raising the total to 722. But the country's nationwide vaccination program continues... with patients and medical staff at hosptials designated by the health ministry to treat people in critical condition. The President of Seoul National University Hospital, Kim Yon-su,... who got the hospital's very first jab, reassures people that there is no reason to be particularly concerned. Meanwhile, COVID-19 variant cases continue to pop up, though most are being identified in people arriving from overseas. The country added six more variant cases on Thursday, five from abroad and one domestic infection, making a total of 162. Kim Dami, Arirang News. #COVID19 #AstraZeneca #vaccine

I and my family had this vaccine 3 weeks ago.

Immediately after taking it, in minutes, my head was heavy and I felt sleepy. Then after a day I developed severe fatigue and body pain, which lasted for 2/3 days.
My wife got fever, which lasted 2/3 days.

My mother in law despite being older and other underlying health issues, had no symptoms whatsoever and stayed safe from any side effects. Strange.

We would have 2nd jabs in May, I heard second jabs are more stronger and people suffer more side effects after second jabs.
It is true for every vaccine..

astrazeneca is banned everywhere now
dont give incomplete info. AZ is paused in some European countries as a precautionary measure. They want to check if a few blood cot cases are linked to the vaccine.
UK and France have refused to pause its use though as they feel the vaccine is not responsible. Even WHO has recommended to continue using the vaccine.

AstraZeneca vaccine is proven to work very effectively with just a single dose for all the strains in the UK. It is also very cheap and easy to store and distribute.

Unless any country has a high prevalence of highly mutated strains like the S African variant, this is the best vaccine to use right now.

A modified vaccine that works better against the S African and similar variants will be ready by September.
