What's new

Sad shameful situation - student from India stalking white woman, why is this a pattern.

The girl didn't have an ounce of interest in him. I hope this insufferable creep was deported back to India.
Why?

He was earning in the US, they convicted him in the US, there is no list of young women who despised him and were stalked by him in India (yet), so what is wrong with his being jailed in the US, and asked to co-exist with those elements in jail who take sexual crimes very seriously?

Let him stick there.

He isn't a US citizen and the US government is under no obligation to host someone convicted of a federal offense which this was. In Europe and North America, there is zero-tolerance on crimes against women. I am certain he will be deported. He can earn in India with whatever talent he holds.

Yes, I got that, but it is not such a major difference, and can be understood. Changing everything I have posted is unrealistic.

If you yourself understand what is being communicated, that will serve the purpose.

I haven't changed anything you posted. But you are using incorrect terminology that will confuse people.

I don't know what there is to "resolve" but I'm glad we can agree.
What there is to resolve is the implicit argument in your posts that there is a genetic and cultural homogeneity within the inhabitants of present-day Pakistan. That is a false proposition, based on this tenuous link of the origins of some, not all, of the languages spoken in Pakistan, and on the fortuitous circumstance of these border-lands having been vulnerable to cultural influence from its neighbours.

Never claimed Pakistan is culturally homogeneous.

The cultures are related but not identical.
I think it may be time to re-read the entire exchange in peace and quiet, and review my conclusions. If these factors were not quoted in order to artificially buttress an impression of social coherence and a naturally occurring internal logic for a new nation, then two questions: why were they quoted? What is the internal logic of the new nation, then?

Just at the moment, Dum Aloo, Chhole, a Caramel Bread Pudding, Orange sweets and a curried Okra have priority.

People actually dont study where the word conservative comes from.... I've lost track of how many people blindly say conservative = free market/capitalism (and vice versa that progressives and liberals are anti free market or marxists or whatever else) and that they are the one and the same, when these realities and compromises have much longer timescales to look at. Free markets and capitalism were at one point quite anti-conservative (new + progressive) phenomenon especially in their application, institutional contours and political heritage which all needed time to form (and for later conservatives to reference as the starting basis to then argue to conserve).

Great point, but surely you must know better than that. After all, this is PDF, where it is far easier to to form and spout views based on ignorance and bias rather than study, and improve them based on learning and comprehension. You see, the "I know, what to think as I am told, therefore please do not try to teach me anything different, you utter imbecile" is a favored stance from numerous members to many title holders and even a few in management. Just like Pakistan, actually. :D

Pakistan is a state not a nation. The only time a state can be a nation if it is homogeneous like Qatar which is ethnic Arab.

Though tribal divisions exist. Anyways, we stated our points. Nothing more to state as far as I can tell. We don't exactly agree but don't exactly disagree.

I have to think about this. Interesting, but has implications.

More or less.

You know your fundamentals, but the way you have used it puzzles me. Things that puzzle me make me uncomfortable.

Perhaps we will talk again. If I live that long.

Oh I was referring to people outside of here, lot of laypeople like me, some I even hold in high regard on various topics of interest and discussion....but overall I find a deficiency when it comes to matters like this one in the general population everywhere who tend to want reductive takes to form their political or identity tribe.

Could care less about situation and prevalence of that in PDF, its a poorer reflection/imitation/simulation of whats out there already....as it gives far less of a fair shake to express things fairly than the real world does.

It appreciates toxicity in abundance to displace the quality it silences....to conform to a precise few small-hearted folk's sinusoid emotional needs and power complex.

So yes very much the psyche of the insular elitist complex (that plagues Pakistan)....extremely fickle, hypocritical and vindictive.... but you know it better than most here.

The private wound is deepest: O time most accurst,
'Mongst all foes that a friend should be the worst!

My former self is exiled and silenced by such personal vindictiveness that came out one day out of nowhere...and I could only think how long had it been brewing while something else was feigned to cover it.

I am not the only one either. I see the main perpetrator in my case still loitering around from time to time, now having a miserable time at the state of affairs regarding their political superstar, but I have learned and disciplined myself to take no joy in their wails, that seeming karma ...this is an all too common character trait in the human psyche in the end. I am reconciled to how it has established in its own way here at PDF, just like you are resigned/reconciled to certain things with the larger country.... that is all there is to say.

I just focus on the few people I respect here, in the few moments I pass by here.....people that I have actually learned something from over time. A tag to a post is a thanks, a small part of debt repaid in that they might have learned something.... and to see if they have anything to add, think of it that way :)

Couldn't have said it better myself, but like you, I take no pleasure in this sad state of affairs, made more hurtful by how utterly unnecessary it is, truth be told. Sigh.

Really? So USA is not a nation, and neither is India. And so many others. Eh?

I have to think about this. Interesting, but has implications.

So even if that is true, it clearly does not prevent states from doing well for their people, so why would such a distinction even be relevant? Whatever happened to diversity being strength?
