Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

I quote:

"One tunnel found by the Israeli military two months before a 2014 clash with Hamas had a 165-foot-deep entry shaft and stretched about 2 miles underground before emerging above the ground at the Ein HaShlosha kibbutz in Israel. Its arched concrete roof was about five feet high."

Iran can do some damage, but it will find out the hard war what it means to fight a country like America. It is certainly not advisable.

It wont be able to sink a carrier. It would require repeated hits by large missiles. like 5 of them to actually sink one. Depending on how big they were of course. But one is not close to being enough.

It will also learn the hard way what it means to not have nukes. As it will suffer significant infrastructure downgrading and send tens of millions refugees to europe. It would be cheaper to just give Palestinians a patch of land somewhere.

But yeah, Iran could cause massive damage militarily and economically. I hope this is all avoided.

What about launching 20 missiles at one carrier at once, and let's say 2 land, shortly after Iran launches 10 more. This is how you sink an aircraft carrier. Simultaneously, hundreds of precision rockets hit US air bases across the region. 5 minutes later, hundreds more and this keeps going on for an hour.

In terms of damage, of course Iran would pay a heavy price, but war games in the Pentagon showed the US would lose. This would also not be a one on one war, it would be a wider conflict. This is why the US has not attacked Iran, even though Iran bombed US bases in Iraq and Syria numerous times.

Before Desert Storm, everyone, including the Soviet Union and China, believed the US would incur Vietnam War level casualties. After DS, everyone STFU.

I think that was due to the sheer incompetence of the Iraqis rather than anything else. The Middle Eastern countries have awful training and standards. I mean Israel defeated multiple Arab militaries in the six day war so badly it was thought to have been a miracle.

20 missiles isn't going to get anywhere near an aircraft carrier. As messed up as the foreign policy is the US just cannot be touched militarily. You might enjoy reading about this though. In a war game before OIF a US general playing the role of Iraq decimated the US military.

If the Iran attacks Israel and the US enters the war both Iran and the US and Israel will all be obliterated. US cannot in any meaningful way occupy the huge land of Iran or its people. US has no money or will-power to spend on another multi-decade war. Israel is too small geographically to survive.

Sorry if this post is too off topic from the thread..

A US carrier group would easily handle 30 missiles. 900 vertical launch cells are heading to the Eastern Mediterranean. Also decoys, electronic warfare etc.

An US air defense is incredibly capable as proven by Patriot in the defense of Kyiv.
