What's new

China will eventually have 12+ aircraft carriers as a world power

So, the fleets will be ready when?

To predict Chinese military development you can't count on official sources as most of the projects are denied to even exist.

Simply look at the what the military institutions such as the one that prompted the start of this thread to see what the future holds.

2025?? you're gonna make 12 carriers in 14 years?? buddy i know you guys have a strong manufacturing base but thats a tall claim coming from a country thats never produced a carrier before - look at the US, they started construction of ford class carrier in 2005 - and it will only enter service in 2015 ..... takes 10 yrs for the world's greatest military power, with long experience of making carriers to complete 1 carrier

We've not produced a lot of things before, yet they get produced anyways. 14 to 19 years is a long time for China. In 2000 our most advanced indigenous plane is the J 8. In 2016 it is the J 20. As time moves on China's advancement will further increase simply due to its size of economy.

As for China's ship building capability it is unquestioned. 15.9 million tons of ships in 2010 and yearly increases are in the double digits.

still then 12 ACC in 14 years is too much and too fast to be true.

1.there may not be a need for so many.
2.ACC is not a standalone thing,it needs its own fleet. So its not the ACC that has to be built, but other vessels as well.
3.ACC,by its very nature is a huge thing and its development takes time.Even some of the most advanced ship-building yards cannot churn out such a high production rate.

Even if this is true, that 12 ACC are eventually going to be manufactured, then I think, the time line will be something beyond 2030.

During war period, it is possible. However, China is not current at war so that there is no need to have such a mass production.

I think it is better to product five of six ACs by then.

China does not need 12 AC groups we are not looking to bomb everyone on the planet like the USA. 4-6 groups will do to protect the trade route.

Ideally China should have 1 Aircraft carrier in Gwadar , 1 in Venezuella , 1 in Libya and 9 in Chinese waters

This is hilarious and typical of the Chinese crowd here. When it was American ballistic missile defense, no shortages of flaws can be found by the Chinese to dance around. But when it is Chinese ballistic missile defense, the system is perfect, as in 'Chinese physics' perfect...

Vietnam is no China and China is no US. We are not talking about defending against a ASBM but a mach 2.5 missile that has yet to be delivered if at all to Vietnam. Vietnam does not have ballistic missiles. We are talking about standard ship defences. Looks like you're dumb as your little friend here.

Also Vietnam's navy is atrocious by any standard. Singapore or Taiwan could put their ships to the bottom of the sea.

How about you actually look at the two sides before supporting your retard of a compatriot. I know you are biased when it comes to the Chinese but it seems its doubly so since its also against your Vietnamese brethren.

i think the question should be why does china need 12+ carriers.
