curreently navy need lot of new technology helicopter becoz of whatever we have its too old to fight with almost 30 years old and as our enemy have bought lot of submariens so we need to save our million dollar ships with few million dollar state of the art helicopter it is cheap and best and keep our enemies in check too specially NH 90 with best sonar system is as good as anything and can carry NSSG it suites our naval requirments too it is expansive but not that much expansive that we cannot buy it

You cannot simply save your ship by buying a new helicopter....you need a full network centric navy...that can relay information between all assets including P3 orions, the primary eye in the sky, helicopters, frigates, submarines etc......

Can somebody aswer this question.PNS almaghir or Oliverd Perry Class friagte carries which ASW Helicopter onboard its deck.I dont think we have SH-60...if not that somebody can tell me which heli should be there.

so far US has resisted providing SH-60 to PN and their release will also depend upon th release of next 4 to 5 additional frigates of perry class.

My personal opinion is that unless fully upgraded PNS Alamghir may get new ASW Helicopter but rather relay on the Z-9EC.

No my friend i cant, this info is based on a discussion with a friend of mine.

Given our current status of relationship with US it will be interesting to see how things proceed with the additional ships of Alamghir classi

As far as Z-9EC is concerned i have seen picture of Z-9EC flying off PNS Alamghir frigate.

PN never asked for the SH 60 but requested the earlier helo: Seaspirit. I doubt that SH-60 would have been inducted in PN before the induction of a land based version. Another factor was price of the SH-60. On the other hand, refurbed Seaspirits were avialable for next to nothing.

Probably the SH-2G(A)s updated for the RAN that entered service in 2006 but were retired in 2008 due to operational concerns and returned to Kaman due to many, many problems....

I found no officiel record of PN requests for either Sh2 or SH6, while it is easy to find the official request for OHP(s) ...

Z9-EC's are currently operating from PNS Alamgir (OHP) and would so for the near future.

Unlike SH60, Z-9EC doesn't carry any sonobuoys. Rather, it carries a low frequency dipping sonar
