What's new

Indian IT firms employ over 1 lakh in US: Report

You of course completely avoided addressing anything.

I addressed what I need to.

Different strokes for different folks. ;)

Sun is gone. Bose's height of success was in 1970's. Today it is getting killed.

So what's new in Indian US entrepreneurship??

Bloom-flawed business model. Lightsquared-Chernobyl business model.

Anything else???? Anything like a YouTube, Yahoo or Vera Wang??

Just one hint. The pentium you are typing from, the internet based mails that you use, the numerals that you used in the post....

Guess what...... ;)

Oh, please!

If someone said, "Company X employs 100,000 people in India", would your first thought be that they are 100,000 Indian nationals or 70,000 foreign workers and 30,000 Indians?
How is NASSCOM responsible for your jumping the gun on thinking one way or the other? the 130K foreign worker Visas issued every year is a valid part of US work force.. Your views, sir, reek of discrimination...

Let's not get into a wider discussion about the visa system. My comment was specifically about the disingenuous nature of the NASSCOM press release.
You find it disingenuous because of your lack of understanding of work force dynamics of USA

And pray tell, where did you grab the bold part from..?? By your own numbers, Total Indian US IT < IBM only...

The self claimed "quant" is not very good with numbers.

In fact, given his data skills, I won't hire him as a data entry operator.

Then I would need to hire an Indian supervisor to check on him (as is happening in his current job). Why not spare the double expense! ;)

Check Wikipedia for IBM and Accenture employment numbers. IBM even has a successful hardware mainframe business in their 100,000.

Dude, this is clearly an Indian IT misinformation campaign in the US. If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth? NASA is 40% Indian BS. LOL.

I addressed what I need to.

LOL, Indians.

One Indian man taking credit for the work of 10,000 American Intel engineers.

You still using a Pentium?? So 1990s and retro you are.
I'm using ARM right now.

Anything new in ethnically Indian entrepreneurship in US??

Any Nvidia GTX 680. Any Cisco Linksys????

Still on 1970's Bose??

You find it disingenuous because of your lack of understanding of work force dynamics of USA

Once again, if someone said, "Company X employs 100,000 people in India", would your first thought be that they are 100,000 Indian nationals or 70,000 foreign workers and 30,000 Indians?

If you're honestly going to tell me that the statement is not deliberately worded to convey the first message, then no comment.

Given the perception that Indian companies are stealing jobs from Americans, the NASSCOM statement is even more disingenuous since they seem to be saying, "no, no, we employ 100,000 people in the US".

this simply means who havent seen AUstralian society from close. just talk to those who are Australian citizens and have seen the society from close. Im Australian citizen and while my over 10 years of stay there, I haven't met even a single Australian white, none, who doesn't have more than 4-5 mothers and fathers. just trust me if you can, in almost every birth day parties I have visited, they generally have over 8 to 10 mothers and fathers. they marry and divorse and after 4-5 marriages, their kids find their over 8 to 10 mothers and fathers. almost none of Australians who marry without passing few months with a woman and if its 'alright' on bed, then only they proceed :agree:. things aren't like hollywood movies like what you guess about Westest families , girls are generally getting pregnant without any relationship with anyone. even the Australian TVs advertise for 'safe sex' during holidays of school kids, they in fact promote this since class 6th/ 7th. and, doing sex does mean it, isn't it? generation of 'casual sex' is now a reality of Australian society :agree:. you dont have to ask father of a girl if you want to have sex with her, just go with her and have dinner and get the work done in her home in presence of her parents/ usually of families of 'single mothers'. things are just quite hypothetical for the people like you who are based in India. things which usually work in Australia.
you people just can't understand how "good families" are defined in Australia :pop:

May be. May be not.

As I said, I have not been to Australia but I have met Australians and know some of them.

These problems are there in that society. I am not yet convinced about the scale though I respect your inputs here.

@Vinod

Nvidia, YouTube - that's just US. We totally wipe out Indian diaspora in any other country.

2nd richest man in Thailand just died. Ever heard of Red Bull??

Chinese Diaspora Entrepreneurship >>> Indian Diaspora Entrepreneurship

Red Bull >>> Lightsquared

I know. Your Indian manager kicked your butt in your appraisals.

And you try to take it out on an anonymous forum. In real life, such people shine the shoes of their managers.

On forums, they hallucinate that Ambani will shine their shoes. Though their parents, wife, they themselves and their kids are the ones doing exactly that.

I hope you had got yourself a decent education and a good job rather than daydreaming about a cent everytime this or that happened.

It may not be too late even now. Try education! It may just work.

My boss in Chinese-American. My firm only has Indians in backoffice IT.

Anything New in Indian US Entrepreneurship?????????

There are also many Pakistanis at the University level, I don't know what makes you say as if Pakistanis are slacking? Statistics have proven the Pakistani diaspora in the US is the most prosperous and sucessful Pakistani diaspora in the world. Though you have to understand Pakistan is a country with 175 million people and over ten million living outside its border, to expect to see as many Pakistanis in universities or elsewhere in any field as countries with over a billion people is probability wise less likely, due to the sheer amount of numbers.

Though nearly every success indicator shows Pakistani community is doing well.

Here's a report for you to read, about what one Pakistani Biomedical engineer and Neurologist has done.

Naweed Syed | News & Events | University of Calgary

You've heard the stories of Pakistanis earning A's on their O level Exams and youngest professional at Microsoft is a Pakistani, so many success stories.

You misunderstood, neither us nor Indians are doing anything honorable by using the system loopholes. What I was pointing at however was that Indians by large as a community are pulling their people into America, with Pakistanis its always been every man for himself.

A proper way to immigrate to America is however always going to be to find employment in a suitable firm which pays you the same amount it would have paid an American hired locally. You go in to America (for immigration) if America needs you, that's it.

Are we supposed to believe what you claim? Despite your history!

Anything New in Indian US Entrepreneurship?????????

Try this just for a start. Indians are enriching the whole social fabric of whichever country they go to.

List of Indian Americans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am surprised you need to ask a resident Indian for these things. Their success is all around you.

And pinches you every living second.

It doesn't have to be that way.

Try education! ;)

Who cares what you believe ? In forums ideas and statements have to stand alone.

I looked at your link.

So what successful major US corporation has an Indian founded recently?? Google wasn't founded by Indians. Bose-Sun we already talked about. Pretty unimpressive list given the amount of Indian bragging.

Are we supposed to believe what you claim? Despite your history!

Vinod, let's play a simple US diaspora fill in the blank game. We have to play for the US, any other country you would get killed.

Give me the US Indian founder equivalent for:

Computer Associates
Yahoo
Nvidia
YouTube
Vera Wang

Err what....?

• A Duke University-UC Berkeley study found that Indian immigrant entrepreneurs had founded more engineering and technology companies here between 1995 and 2005 than did immigrants from Britain, China, Japan and Taiwan combined.
FORBES
