I think Pakistans Govt is over riding the senseless Islamic Jingoistic sentiments of its population, and finally thinking rationally to do trades with its self perceived enemies.
So not a bad idea, I hope in the years to come the Pakistanis might start to think in a more open way.

 govt ? Its not a GOP's decision, Its the decision taken by our armed think tank, Our Government supports iran centric policey and you know how much iran dislikes the business with israel.. As we heard that before from media resources that our Armed forces are dominated by Islam centric thoughts so I guess now you understand who take that decision.:) Defend your nation thats wat Islam has teached us.

Note: Dominent by Islam centeric thoughts doesn't means that our army don't induct personnals from minorities.

What is today known as Turkey.

@Pfpilot
Pakistan has, is and will probably be for a long time more sympathetic towards the Arabs than towards Israel, only a friendly and strong Muslim nation can mediate peace between Israel and the Arab countries. Because another diplomatic relationship with another hostile Muslim nation(Egypt, Jordan and Turkey all have hostile populations) won't do Israel much good.

it more than meets the eye pak pilots flew in the Arab war also what u see happing in palatine the block aid and so on......
i dont hate jews but it the Zionist that most Muslim have a problem with when i watch the news of the land grab by Israel and the double standards the west have when it comes to the u.n pisses people of most of all muslims isreal has a nuclear reactor why cant Iran

I think it is a good start. Pak military needs good quality equipment. Now if we can accept equipment from USA who had and is still killing innocent Pakistanis, so why cannot we buy eqipment from Israel. We should not support their atrocities towards the Palestinians but if we start having normal relations with them than we can try to influence them just like Turkey. We need to broaden our supplier base. Israel can be a good friend once we have got justice and land for the Palestinians, but until then when we can do business with the devil(USA), then why not its b.astard child(Israel)?

It's not about whether or not Pakistan and Israel should or do have ties, this is about if the report is even real. We're talking about PressTV, a known anti-Pakistan and anti-Israel news agency.

I have no doubt that Pakistan and Israel have military and intelligence ties, but the question is, why would Pakistan buy these trucks from Israel, when Pakistan can either just ask China, the US or it's own factories to produce them? What makes these trucks so special that Pakistan had to ask Israel to make them? This entire situation that PressTV presents is completely outlandish, nothing makes sense in the article.

The news could be right and also could be wrong. Remember Pakistan purchased 6 watertrucks worth $179,000, ridiculous as it could get. Pakistan can and is able to develop-manufacture those trucks even cheap but still Government purchased it from US.

Press Releases 2009 | Embassy of the United States Islamabad, Pakistan

I have seen 3 of these Trucks at Peshawar Air Base.

You guys don't pay for this. These are a courtesy of the US tax payers as these are 'financed' and usually come out of the aid package for Pakistan, be it FMS or other Foreign Democratic Support. I think the US needs a serious advertising focus in Pakistan. Average Pakistani still hates the US and doesn't know that since the inception of Pakistan, the US has been providing aid to Pakistan on constant basis. Yes, there were a few unfortunate times and sanctions came along, but you should also see a continuous history for over seven decades of supporting Pakistan. I hope Pakistani people realize this and actually work towards a better relationship with the US. Pakistan should ask the US for investments to grow its economy, education, etc, etc. But the right people need to be sitting in Islamabad for that.

USA already makes sure that ONLY the "right people" sit in Islamabad, Sir.

THAT is where you are mistaken. If your people elect the right people and vote for the right person.......the US doesn't have to 'make sure' of anything. The US is there for Pakistan, as a country. Not for a certain individuals. You guys vote the wrong guy in, or the wrong guy takes control of your government and for the sake of stability, the US kind of has to work with that person and to ensure that nothing stupid will happen from a military / war or nuke's standpoint. Your leaders can STILL be good friends with the US but also be honest to your country too. Like I said, the US doesn't want to be involved. It DOES want a successful, religiously tolerant, modern and educated Pakistan. Take a look at India, how much influence do you see on her compared to Pakistan???? When your elected officials look towards the US for their salaries....and don't do jack for their country's economy....then essentially the US aid runs your leadership and with that comes more influence. So use your vote right, put in right people and the US will stand by you. TRUST me, the US would love to see Pakistan grow to a point where it can tell its tax payers that Pakistan doesn't need aid no more. Imagine how a world like that would look like......with investments pouring into Pakistan, the American businessmen going to Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore without fears like they go to India. Imagine the respect Pakistan will have? You guys have such a big labor market....it's time to put the right candidates in your leadership so your country can proceed towards the growth and prosperity. The ball is in your court so cease the moment

That's just Bussiness nothing else in bussiness there is no friend no enemy just Bussiness!

Well I dont kow about the report being true or not. I was replying to some members here questioning why Pakistan needs to buy from israel. Remember we need Israel's military hardware, they need to sell it. Right now, they are not going to sell us their anti-missile systems or radars that India have bought from them. But if we can start dealing with them on anything, than later we can negotiate. It is not important what we are buying, it is important to have a business relationship. I am a businessman and I have dealt with people who I did not like in business and vice versa. Now if the report is true, than it is a good thing.

Business is business, nothing personal.

We don't need Israel's military hardware, we've done fine without it so far, so I don't see how we could need it. Israel does need to sell though, a large chunk of their exports consist of military hardware, mostly headed towards India, Turkey and some eastern European nations.

In this case, it is personal. Israel has expressed it's desires to bombing Pakistan in the past to stop Pakistan from obtaining nukes and has had it's main lobby AIPAC make the Obama administration sign into law a provision that would allow US forces to seize Pakistan's nuclear assets the first chance they get, and Pakistan has in the past covertly fought against Israel by sending volunteer air-force personal to fight in Arab armies and successfully shooting down Israeli planes, not to mention, it sent military advisers and trainers to train and coordinate Arab forces. Pakistan should not buy military or even civil products from Israel, it's just a way for Israel to legitimize it's stance on the occupation by saying "hey, we got all this international support and military ties". The reason why Israel and India get along? They both have similar interests, Israel with Palestine and India with Kashmir. We wouldn't buy military hardware from India, would we? So why from Israel? It's a matter of principle, business should never get in the way of a person's moral beliefs, after all, what are we but common animals, if we give up on our morals?

No offense to Israelis, it's not you we dislike, it's your government and it's policies.

There are many things wrong with your previous and this statement, far too many to point out. I'll just say a few things for your consideration.

Pakistan has not received constant aid from the US, the sanctions after the first atom bomb blast in Pakistan made sure of that. Pakistan has not always been there for Pakistan, and has actually been a hindrance in some cases, namely, after the Soviet withdrawal, the US abandoned Afghanistan and left it's clean up to Pakistan. The US has recently been threatening to sanction Pakistan for the Iran-Pakistan-India(fmr. India withdrew under US pressure) pipeline, and has been instead pushing for the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline, which would effectively increase the costs for Pakistan, put in under indirect control of the US, because In case of sanctions against Pakistan, unlike Iran, Afghanistan would cut off the supply line, and finally even if that pipeline were to be built, the instability in Afghanistan would threaten the pipeline and force Pakistan to send in troops to Afghanistan, which it wants to avoid, in order to defend the pipeline.

So if IK wins he is a US stooge? lol

Just another case of Pakistan politicians doing what they do best.

Public image Israel is the devil we wont even admit they exist for our passport.

How do you tell a politician is lying......his lips are moving ;)

No, IK will not be the stooge of anybody. However, the real beauty of the art of diplomacy is such that he could be persuaded to serve US interests just as well as Pakistan's since he could be convinced they are fairly similar.

I would highly suggest you re-read my post a few times when you have nothing to do. You'll see what I was trying to say. Here, I'll reexplain a bit:
1) Sanctions: yes. I am aware of those and yes, I think everyone in the US now knows how dear and important was the F-16 deal and other cooperation that didn't happen during those times. I think the US leadership has said it many times.
However, did the US put you into that situation??? Did the US come to you and beg you to buy our hardware so we can put sanctions on you??? NO. When you get equipment, money and financing from a bigger country, you have to abide by the terms and conditions of the deal. If the deal had these sanctions mentioned (which is usually the case when you deal with the US), why did you sign the contract? You should know better that a super power has its own interests too. It doesn't mean the US or Americans hate Pakistan, it just means Pakistanis need to do better at contract negotiations and in becoming self sufficient.
2) If the Pakistani leadership had paid attention to Pakistani economy 20 years ago, you'll be in top 15 largest economies in the world......with 200 million population....I hope you understand that. It means you'll be producing your own military hardware or will have all major powers trying to do business with you without issues like Turkey, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, etc, etc.
So why didn't your leaders make the right policies, why did you THE PEOPLE elect the wrong gang for SOOOO long that you have no other choice or backup in case there were sanctions? You guys are an independent country right.....so go figure out a policy for your country to move forward. It is VERY EASY to blame the US for everything wrong that happens in Pakistan. It seems as it is very easy to blame the US for everything vs. looking inside and taking responsibility of the failed policies and leaders you guys have elected for decades. This is where the problem is. Good leaders will put in policies for education, economical growth, tolerance, etc. Bad leaders, in this case corrupted thieves will ONLY sell your country. So the blame doesn't lie on US. Blame lies on your internal politics and leaders that you guys have. Look at Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia.....do you see those countries crying about sanctions? The US enjoys great relations with all of them. So why it is always the 'poor' Pakistan being the problem child???? I didn't say this to mock your country up. I have a silent hidden meaning that tells you how quickly you guys point to the US for all of your issues, vs. doing something as a nation to promote economic growth and develop an honest political system that'll take the country forward!!!
