Turkey’s deputy prime minister says his country supports Syria’s territorial integrity and won’t tolerate the creation of a “de facto” Syrian Kurdish entity on its frontiers.

Speaking to reporters Monday, Bulent Arinc would not spell out what Turkey would do prevent any such entity from coming about but said it would act carefully and in a cool-headed manner.

Authorities here have been concerned over Syrian Kurdish militants’ recent strengthening of power in areas bordering Turkey.

The concerns have been heightened by reports that Kurds in Syria are preparing to form an autonomous region in those areas.

Last week, a Syrian Kurdish group - affiliated with Turkey’s own autonomy-seeking Kurdish rebels - took control of a town on the border with Turkey after fighting radical Islamic groups.

Our government officials saying this for while now... I highly doubt that they will take action incase of a de facto Kurdish Entity.

Establishment of a Kurdish state is a strategic threat to Turkish territorial integrity and unity of Turkish people, yet, it's serious threat that will not be allowed to be posed in the first place. I believe that you guys are wrong regarding Turkish inactivity toward previous violations to it, such Israeli flotilla incident to shooting down a jet and others, as a matter of fact Turkish reaction was very tough but smart at the same time, Bashar paid a dear price for attacking Turkey through many forms. So, Turkey took it's revenge in silent and efficient way without so much noise.

Hello there

Can you elaborate for discussions sake what these quiet measures were that Turkey had taken?

I dont mean it in a sarcastic way, I am genuinely curious as I know we created a vocal ruckus and after that it was just "measures taken against Syria" but no specifics.

Turkey beefed up FSA media, political, diplomatic, humanitarian, training, and armament support for the FSA. The immediate indirect result of shooting down the Turkish jet was liberating all Turkish-Syrian border posts, not to mention other results since-then . In other words, Turkey has been fighting Bashar indirectly without loosing a single soldier. He paid dearly for it.

Arming insurgents is something Turkey has never done before, we don't like these kind of ugly cloak and dagger type of operations. As a result of this contemptible policy we've lost 56 citizens at Reyhanlı, it turned out the government knew about the attack and they didn't do a damn thing.

We could arm Turkish cypriots and watch the country go down in flames back in '74 but we didn't do it. Our response was direct and honorable. http://www.defence.pk/forums/turkey-defence/265724-20-july-1974-operation-attila.html

AKP chicken sh.ts..

I hope Turkish intelligence will be up to task; it seems that vested interest groups are keen to see some very 'cooperative' rebels amongst the Kurds to take over key oil-rich areas....they've already done so in Northern Iraq

and its no secret WHO is supporting the idea of Kurdish seperatism; that is probably why the Turkish govt. is keen to resolve this issue in order to counter the designs of their enemies. This is an area where countries like Turkiye, Iran, Syria and Iraq should all be on the same page.

Such thinking may work with a shopkeeper not a president of a country like Turkey. You lost 56 in a suicide attack while you would have lost thousands in a direct attack.

honestly jefe, it wouldn't take more than a thousand. But to protect your citizen, you have to make hard decisions. Our soldiers are supossed to do anything to protect their nation and it's people. Not trying to survive in somewhere

The sad part is there is still no action. I mean the perpetrators of the attack has been caught but nothing done against the planners. Just PM and FM throw same empty words thats it. And there is no guarantee that there won't be an suicide attack in the upcoming months, because we didn't capture the planners.

What i expected from Erdogan was, he should have said. "We are going to find the responsibles of this attack and bring them to justice, wherever they are in the world." and act according to. But imam has no balls.

Indeed, AKPs destructive policy in syria is only helpfull for separatist kurds than any others there.
We will have some serious problems in the future because of this wrong policys done today.
I heard yesterday they have called their representatives from Iran,Turkey and Syria to discuss possibilities of autonomous Kurdistan and its challenges.

PKK only 'seems' to be in a truce with Iran, because they can't fight a war in 3 fronts. After Syria, they will come for Iran and Turkey, this time much more powerful. We are going to have some rough days ahead.

That barzani rat is talking about joining land from Iraq Iran Syria Turkey. They are having so called conferences. Only if we had a man as PM we would have destroyed all of them. Even Tansu Çiller was 50000x more brave than this erdoğan.

We have a traiter as PM.
