I am not anti-India, I am pro-Pakistan: Shaan

Shaan said there should also be a film policy between India and Pakistan.

He strikes again! Last year, Pakistani actor Shaan had a face-off with Ali Zafar when he called Pakistani artists who cross the border for work “cheap sell-outs”, but this time he is more vocal than before.

At a recent event, the actor struck another dispute saying: “I am not anti-India, I am pro-Pakistan. If being pro-Pakistan is the same as being anti-India then yes, maybe I am anti-India.”

Talking to reporters present at the event, Shaan emphasised on the fact that there should be friendly film policies between the two countries. “If there is trade policy with India, there should be a film policy as well,” he said.

“When there is a cricket match between the two countries, both flags are hoisted to the same level. So, I am just talking on the basis of that equality,” he explained.

Shaan also urged the government to device friendly policies for the film industry. “Cinema is a retail outlet. I will emphasise on factory — Pakistan had so many factories, some have already shifted to Bangladesh and the remaining ones are planning to follow suit.”

“This shouldn’t happen because Pakistan is a promised land for which our ancestors have struggled a lot. We have written a history with our blood since partition. Some have written through films, others through culture — some adopted political careers. This is a flower bouquet called Pakistan.”

He gave Iran’s example of how its government helped the revival of their film industry. “After the revolution, when filmmakers were called by the government, they thought they had been called to shut down the film industry. But they were asked to make films instead with government’s finance and support,” he said.

“But we don’t even ask our government to finance it. We just want policy – friendly policy,” he added.

Shaan also urged the youth to utilise all digital tools to promote local films.

I am just jealous because I don't get offered any roles in B grade Bollywood movies.

Nothing what he said was wrong or out of context.

He didn't mention he hates India anywhere .
The same is mentioned in above post.

I am sure he got some offers in your A+ grade movies as well. If Ali Zafar and others can get movie offers then why not Shan? He is the best actor of Lollywood.

Lol. As if there was a difference. :D

He not only has a right to hate India, but in fact it is his moral obligation to do so.

He is one of the few who have not been bought over by us.

No, that's not true at all. I am pro-Pakistan. I want Pakistan to get ahead in life and in the world ranking because the population has the talent. I want their population to grow and be like India. But I've also spent the same amount of time in India too. India already has a working plan and she's made a lot of progress. So I don't have to worry about India as much. But Pakistan is now starting out. So wishing one best of luck doesn't mean I think of India, as a country in a derogatory way.
I at times have issues with Indian business men's ethic, but that's not being against the entire country of India. Similarly, there are a few that are here to do propaganda from India, so you'd argue with them at times. But you can't label someone with that mentality that he's anti-Indian. For some reason, Indian people, at least on this forum, don't have open mind. They act like beyond humans and silly patriots to a point it almost seems like India is run by patriot robots, who have no need to do crime, spread religion, do corruption, etc, things that happen in ANY society based on humans.

Not really. Pretty sure he got offers. :)

Oh he HAS gotten offers, trust me. He's actually gotten offers from the Iranian film industry also, where they wanted to show roles based on Pakistani-Iran join friendship themes. In fact, he was also offered a British gig with one of their channels. Not sure what the role was there though.

I've not watched this guys movies. But I know one Pakistani actress (Rema) very well, who lives here in Chicago and I know her through her husband. She's one good looking lady!!! She used to work with this Shaan dude a lot so I've seen his pictures and heard the name a lot. Apparently, they were a famous "actor couple" for the Pakistani audience, is what I was told. Is that true?

Keep the factories coming! :yahoo:
