International Media account on PAF’s role in 1965 war

I agree but it was until 60s to 99s they might be best because they had best jet of their era and their training

But Ballance between pilot and jet is getting bigger we have good pilots no doubt but they don't have potent capable jet to overdone he perfect balance between man and machine

Alonr pilot is nothing and alone jet is nothing if you combine best pilot with best available jet you get deadly combination
thats right + want to add in this age missile tech is advancing with such a pace that role of pilot is becoming more like a video game player and no matter how good a pilot is today if he has a HOBS missile locked on it before he can do the same to his enemy his enemy wins

ANother Chest thumping Threar b/w India and PAk .Whats done is done our enemy has evolved so dont underestimate . This is total waste of PDF

think of it this way of all the so called "PAF past glories" they lost every war with india they started to get kashmir but still kashmir is with india

and as for there glories what stopped them from saving there 1st armoured divission getting massacerred in battle of asal uttar(1965) and where there tanks kept waiting for air support which never came and pakistan had to go to tashkent/USSR even when they started war with USA supplied sabre jets :sarcastic:

so much for past glories :sarcastic:

@GURU DUTT , Since you take glory in an incident where some tanks were bogged down in sand without any air cover or air base in the vicinity, well here's something the Make in India history will never mention, not yet anyway but there's hope since after 50 years, the IAF finally decided to swallow the bitter pill and admit that it lost around 40 aircraft in first two days alone in the 1965 war.. anyways, this is what happened right close to the Pathankot air base.

Detestation at Mukerian railyards.

One of the hugely successful missions of the war was an attack on Mukerian Railway Station. On 15 December, Wg Cdr Hakimullah was tasked to lead a four-ship mission to attack Bhangala Railway Station on Jalandhar-Pathankot railway line. After pulling up for the attack, he was dismayed to discover that there was no rolling stock in sight, but he decided to try his luck further south along the railway line. Having flown a mere 30 seconds, he overflew Mukerian Railway Station which was bustling with trains. Peeling off into the attack pattern, the four Mirages set themselves for single-pass dive attacks with two 750-lb bombs each. According to Hakimullah’s estimate, there were at least 100 freight bogies latched to different trains berthed adjacent to each other. The Mirages released their bombs one by one though No 4, who had hung ordnance, pulled off dry. The impact of the bombs on fuel and ammunition laden trains was so furious that the blasts shook the aircraft; No 2’s drop tanks sheared off with the shock wave but he was able to fly back without any further damage. The Mirages had so far been striking at shallow targets, but with the time for the main offensive running out, it was decided to use them more audaciously. It was ironic that one of the most significant interdiction missions was also the one and only flown by Mirages, before the curtain fell two days later.

Guru dutt do not see his failures he get blind but our failures he can see from seven seas far bhai

You mean to say , there's no been any change or developments to the subject in the last 40+ years. !!!

Perhaps, it would actually have been a 2 track railway station back then - converted to a 4 track one now. They added an extra platform - taking the grand total to 3.

Also, depends on when this illustration was drawn.

Wishes can't change history, it was most likely a marshalling yard back in 1971 later turned into a station, even this picture reveals more than a few tracks.

THe artist didn't exactly visit the location to capture the illustration, rather he used gun camera images and pilot description to capture the scene of destruction.

As I said, A grand total of 4, I liked the illustration - storybook stuff.

but in the end what matters is why the war was started well ayub khan started after ZAB convinced ayub khan that kashmiries will welcome SSG commandoes and raise a rebellion against india in kashmir in 1964 remmeber operation gibralter and operation grandslam

no dought PAF had a great run in initial stages of war but what happenned in the end

did PAF made it certain that PA got kashmir ?

in not then all these fancy pictures and glories of PAF dosent matters

as they say in urdu "jo jeeta wahi sikanadar"

Look at the topic and your desperation to salvage some pride....typical Indian escape and ploy.
Going by your logic, Khalistsani are the real winners then for taking out Indra Gandhi . !!!

i was expecting this stupid argument from you as you are in habit of doing argument for the sake of argument and never accept any reality. in my post i talked about PAF and PAF always had the upper hand in past wars against IAF . even many foreign analysts say so. john fricker from UK and chuk yeager from USA are the most notable ones and indians like you never agree to what they say as you people like to live in your own world of lies in which india is perfect super power in the world.
now a war consists of many battles and the force which wins the most battles wins the war and it is almost impossible to win all battles and many operations may end up in failure. according to your logic PAF would have been declared victorious only if wouldn't have lost a single air craft. remember the attacks of pathankot and kalae kunda where your hawks were destroyed on ground like sitting ducks and a single PAF pilot shot down atleast 3 indian fighters in single sortie. there is a long list of PAF victories. and it become even more remarkable when PAF was fighting against an enemy 4-5 times larger in number. the PAF first attack stunned the IAF on the very first day of the air war of 65 and the IAF 's first formation that was meant to attack sargodha couldn't even find sargodha air field and they dropped their payload in open fields. some rocket pods with rockets in them. hats off to their courage, navigation and air combat skills.(incident mentioned in the book fizaya written by indian pushpindr sigh , rava rakhay who are indians. ) now i am sure you won't agree with them as well.:sarcastic:

whats your point :what:

now if i agree with you same thing happenned in 6 day war but israelies carried it till the end and all the arab powers ahd to eat the bitter pill of defete but what happened here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tashkent_Declaration
can't u understand or you don't want to understand. i am talking here about the skill and performance of the PAF pilots as this thread is about skills of paf pilots. you are acting like nawaz sharif. :sarcastic:

i request mods to close this thread as it will be very difficult for the indians to dijest this harsh truth and they will keep on trolling and secondly these things have been discussed many times in past.
