At least 10 injured as plane makes emergency landing in Lahore
IMRAN GABOL — UPDATED 7 MINUTES AGO

LAHORE: At least 10 passengers were injured as the tyre of a Shaheen Airlines flight burst during an emergency landing on Tuesday.

The Karachi-Lahore flight NL-142 was carrying 276 passengers, airport sources say.

The injured were provided with immediate medical treatment. None are said to be in critical condition.

The tyre of the aircraft burst during landing due to a fault in the landing gear. The aircraft skidded off the runway after the tyre burst.

The pilot of the aircraft had given prior intimation to airport authorities regarding the fault in the landing gear before making the emergency landing.

Aviation authorities and the fire brigade reached the spot in a timely manner.

Fear and panic gripped the passengers, who were evacuated through an emergency gate.

Pakistan’s airline industry has been tarnished by a string of tragic accidents in recent years.

In April, 2012, all 127 on board Bhoja Air’s Boeing 737-200 lost their lives when the flight flew from Karachi airport but crashed five kilometers from Islamabad.

Earlier in July, 2010, an Airblue jetliner crashed into Islamabad’s Margalla hills, killing all 146 passengers and six crew members on board.

The best option now for Pakistan transportation solution is that they should sell off all the corporations to Western firms:
PIA
PNSC
PR
NLC

some will say shaheen is better than PIA :P

PIA and both Shaheen are improving. Shaheen is getting post 2006 a330 aircraft next year. They need more jets to get rid of 734 though. However, they were operating a320 before PIA.

PIA got rid of old ACs already.

Shaheen airlines has far better maintenance crew than any other private airline in Pakistan
