Featured Azerbaijan and Pakistan JF-17 negotiations

The air force did the best by taking over this project. I think it was a great idea and successful for Pakistan to partner with the plane it had to buy to meet its low budget. As I said in another topic before, it is also a great choice for low budget African countries, but the countries you count will never want this plane. You don't have to blame the army.
Brother there is no denial to the fact , i would rather fly in thunder then in F16 at any given time as it is sanction free and my will to do what i want to do .My comments are based on Commercial success which is greatly hindered by the Fighter Management ,What thunder need was professional sales team to pitch it against competition .e.g not creating dual seater was a big mistake which was rectified almost 20 years and assumption was WE (Pilots of PAF) not then (customer)

"The platform can also use Link 16 to work properly with NATO forces , " said M-346FA, including a complete DAS and Tactical Data Link, in a statement by Leonardo . statements took place.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan JF-17 negotiations
Representatives of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) said at IDEAS-18 that all existing problems related to the export of the plane to Azerbaijan were resolved and the tests of the JF-17 Block II configuration requested by Azerbaijan were completed. The Azerbaijani Air Force had been waiting for this version to be used by the Pakistan Air Force for some time. The Block II version, which has been used by the Pakistan Air Force for a while, has proven itself after its use.

One of the major advantages of the Block II version is its ability to refuel in air. The Block II model also features improved avionics, improved load carrying capacity, data connectivity and electronic warfare. The Azerbaijani side is currently reviewing both Chinese and Italian production AESA radars for use in the JF-17.

Can u please share the link of the source?
because I have searched but found nothing in 2020.

Except this:
On 07 April 2020, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) revealed that an official Azerbaijani government and military delegation visited United Aircraft Corporation’s (UAC) facilities in Russia.

The Azerbaijani MoD stated, “our country expressed interest in purchasing the most advanced Russian-made combat aircraft.” The MoD outlined that the Azerbaijani delegation visited UAC’s production plants for the Su-35 and MiG-35, and that Azerbaijan Air and Air Defence Force pilots test-flew the MiG-35.

Notes & Comments:
Though Azerbaijan had reportedly expressed interest in the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC)/Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) JF-17 Thunder, it seems that the country is still open to new Russian combat aircraft. Given that Azerbaijan’s fighter fleet is entirely comprised of Russian aircraft, this news is not surprising – the existing familiarity with Russian suppliers and, potentially, Russia’s willingness to help with financing and other support will continue having an influence.

we should introduce ban on export of Block III

Azerbaijan is too close to Israel and India is close to Israel

we could end up back firing here

max. should be Block II
Sell them a little downgraded version instead of banning every single thing in this country. They'll be using italian systems so it will be very different from PAFs block 3.

The hinderance in selling to Azerbaijan is Engine Russian origin ,If WS series can be developed it would have been pitched ,also for the ME nations they require European engine so integration of one is missing ,Thunder being a good platform lacks the basic selling point as buying nations are either Pro US/Europe or Russian

Why would that be a hindrance to Azerbaijan? If anything that's a benefit, commonality with Mig-29 etc

Dudes, Azerbaijan is a country with a lot of money, I do not think it will enter the Downgrade bargain with Pakistan, if Pakistan don't give what they want, they will can pay the money and buy any aircraft of European or Russian origin, I do not even need to name it plane. Any

I doubt anything of value in this report. They will most likely go with a Russian jet and use various isreali consortiums to finish the upgrades.

this is the most probable outcome yea

Careful. Switching out the radar, means most of the current integrated weapons systems will not work on the Italian AESA. They would have to go for a full weapons suite from Italy in addition to the radar.

Precisely,
switching the radar is not as easy as some think.
Everything has to change.

Pakistan is the only country in the world that does not recognize Armenia.

Try processing that.

Btw
Pakistanis are very poor at marketing imho.
We need some western trained folks
Americans can sell you anything

Pakistan might have been one of the first countries to accept Azerbaijan as an independent nation as well. In fact we should sell them the best gear we can so if push comes to shove with Armenia, they can come out on top.

We need to recognize the countries that support us and those we would want closer ties with. It doesn't happen by selling them watered down versions of a 4th generation aircraft. Give them the best you can offer and expect the same in return. Block III is not some magical or unique thing that only Pakistan has and no one else can offer.

From Air Pockets III;
"PM Nawaz Sharif had been overflying Azerbaijan territory (on 30th August 1991) when he was informed that Azerbaijan had announced its independence. PM instructed the pilot to convey Pakistan's instant recognition of the new state to Baku control. For this unusual method of announcing recognition, that was broadcast by the Azeri State TV and Radio with great jubilation, Pakistan is held in high esteem in Azerbaijan."

What happened to this Nawaz Sharif? Did we forget him at Baku airport?

When people lose sight and lust for money; they leave themselves behind.

He should have lusted for more power and built Pakistan and he would've been remembered in a much better light, now he's cursed at day in and day out across the globe by Pakistanis'. Just as the sun never rested on the old British Empire, overseas Pakistanis' cursing doesn't rest either no matter where the sun shines.

Not Pakistanis. Just Pak Military. They think they can do everything. Civilian input is a red line for them. Marketing and promotion is an art in itself which is the job of business grads. Not every thing can be taught in military academies.
