Bangladesh Interested in JF-17

Don't you think we'll always ensure a Pro-Indian government in bangladesh? :azn:

No i dont think because Bangladeshis are wise and educated people and with pasage of time, they have become politicaly more mature and am sure its not about pro-India or anti-India. it will be about BD in coming days

Here's a catch, if we really want to know about the aircraft, can't we pay couple of million dollars and asylum to the pilot to defect with the aircraft to Indian territory?

Who's pilot?

Recent stance of Khaleda Zia for more cooperation with India should speak something about it. She tried Anti-Indian stance before, didn't helped her much for her cause.

Who's pilot?

Any JF-17 operator, but BAF pilots will be much more vulnerable. Don't you think so?

whats with the anti and pro? just because we are friendly and co operating doesn't mean we will favour you over other friends. And BAF pilots and proud and honourable, they would never do that, don't worry .

mmmmm a good point but again cant India lay hands on it through some other player?

Yup they can hence why they'd be sold only to allied countries but then again the other side of the argument could be that we do use the F-16 & so do about 2 dozen other countries some of whom may have pretty good military-to-military relations with India. If our assets aren't compromised in case of the F-16s then maybe they won't be in case of the JF-17 sales. If we can work around that in case of the former than we can work around well enough in case of the latter too.

I leave it to the Military Higher Ups to solve this conundrum if there be one to begin with.

Even Soviet pilots were thought to be the same, but many defected to west with their state of the art fighters back in the cold war era. Don't worry, if we need it, we'll have it. ;)

Its the lack of intelectual cells in Indian policy makeres' brains that assumed if Khalida speaks against Hassina league then it automatically becomes anti-India .

As for the cooperation well she did what a good politician should do. thats called diplomacy. on the other by going against Khalida, India dint help its own cause hence Indian Govt invited her for visit.

I dont think so . i believe BD forces are more loyal to their country and are not in much love with india

hahaha don't put BAF in the same league as IAF but then again, whatever floats your boat :P

Khaleda Zia`s son indicted for 2004 grenade attack

Khaleda Zia's exiled son in aborted plot to dislodge Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh : North, News - India Today

Such incidents doesn't make her party India friendly either. When we're investing money, we'll look out for prospects. And Sheik Hasina provides better prospect for India.

Ironic thing is, there isn't any instrument to measure the patriotic and nationalistic feelings in a person. Maybe not all, but just one we need out of hundreds.

Its the over all attitude of any standing army of any country and BD's army surely is NOT in such a great love with India

Dont worry the Bangladeshis air force will shoot any Indian dalal down before he crosses over to India

Really? here's the distribution of airports of banfladesh and proximity to Indian borders.

It's not like they've their fingers on the SAM triggers all the time, and any violations from inside the border will definitely go unnoticed in the initial stages and by the time they'll notice any discrepancies, the aircraft will already be very near to the India border, if not inside it.

Obviously not, no country will pay it's soldier to love any other country. Isn't? :D

And why do you think that BD airfoce will not strictly monitor the priced product like JF-17 and will let it slip into Indians' hand?
