Bangladesh needs to put forward the ‘transit in exchange for rivers’ formula as the framework for Indo-Bangladesh negotiations

Very few people know about UN resolution No. 47. A resolution that was passed does not mean the land will go to Pakistan unless the geography changes by deed of war.

By the way, why Pakistanis should think about this resolution and the Muslim majority? Muslim majority point gets null and void because only Dogra has the power to choose either side.

It was decided by a tripartite meeting between Muslim League, the Congress Party, and the British masters before partition. Dogra Chose India though it was/ is a Muslim-majority country.

It is very strange that Pakistani ruling people want the people to die of starvation if Kashmir is not a part of Pakistan.

To get Kashmir you have to fight and win. Can you win? If not why do you guys are so inflexible to the point that your military budget far exceeds your money and the country has been ruined by you like a spoiled child?

Kashmir dispute has been lately referenced as a nuclear flashpoint. Maybe given Bangladesh's isolated position in the international community, your ignorance on the matter can be understood.

Nuclear weapons are never again to be used by any country. Better you do not assume things. Now, with $3.1 billion in your reserve, Pakistan itself has become vulnerable as a country.

Even your Paradise-seeking illiterate terrorists would not venture into Kashmir. What a misuse of religion!!!

By the way, many Kashmiri medical students are now coming to Bangladesh to study medicine.

It would be a mistake to rule out use of nuclear arsenal as a viable solution for deterring a major conflict. Kashmir conflict is one of the major conflict of the world with nearly half the population of the world in direct engagement.

The conflict has the potential to evolve into a major water war at the height of the climate crisis.

And India has more nuclear weapons than Pakistan. India has the correct delivery system as well.

So, stop the macho culture that you claim is Islamic culture. Better, Pakistan builds millions of mini-bombs. People have no food there. So, they can fill their stomach with the mini version of this bomb.

One can go hungry longer but cannot go thirsty long. Indian designs for water wars will meet their conclusive logical conclusion.

Are you sure this wasn't an exchange program? Cause we got student programs that had Chinese & Koreans as well. Your students came to our country not only as students, but to the point they even had their own students association https://bsapk.tripod.com/

On top of that millions of your people reside in our country illegally. Apparently they're unaware how "superior" your country is.

lol no. They have less warheads plus a mostly failed missile program.

So, ask your PM to drop one and blackmail the world. Your country will be utterly destroyed.

By the way, since you do not have a missile delivery system, there is an ample possibility that your bombs will be dropped over Lahore if taken by a plane to Delhi.

The country will be utterly destroyed if India's water wars go unaddressed.

Kashmir is a disputed region between India, Pakistan and China. So you can do away with your Bongo logic.

What else does your crystal ball say? Will Hasina also be killed like Mujib?
Only Pakistan thinks Kashmir is a disputed territory that Pakistan invaded in 1948 and got part of it.

Kashmir has been a dead horse since then and in controlling Kashmir Pakistani leaders have wistfully forfeited the country's economic prosperity.

Pakistan has become bankrupt. I personally do not see any prospect of coming out of the dismal situation. No country wants to bankroll Pakistan, not even SA. SA knows the loan money will not be returned and Pakistan will be asking for more.

The water is not for India to 'give' nor for India to decide how much water is 'needed' by Pakistan.

Did you ever spend time reading Indus Water treaty? India is releasing India's share of water to Pakistan...So, of course, India has the right to decide what to do with India's share of water and when to block it if it has the capacity to do so.

I always laugh when I remember the famous saying of Pakistan's earlier general/President that Pakistan will eat grass to build a nuclear bomb...At that time, no one has ever thought that their Army will really drag their entire nation to have such an economic scenario as it exists today...

Pakistan army sold their Kashmir situation to their mass for the last 75 years they can not go back without really getting back the land from India ...At least in India, even if Modi Govt is telling fancy stories about getting Kashmir part of Pakistan, normal people like us know the reality.. So technically, India should just leave Pakistan to its current stage where they are obsessed with Kashmir and keep on spending their energy on their Army to win Kashmir.

Bangladesh government also thinks Kashmir is a disputed region. It is a universal fact. Maybe you live in some deep mangroves in Sunderbans with no access to news and information.

Indian attempt to play God with Pakistan's water security is pushing the region towards a point of no return.

This is why Pakistan needs to uphold the Indus water treaty with third party international arbitration. If Bangladesh had a similar treaty with India it wouldn’t have to be going into these kinds of negotiations.
People will dislike my comments. But, BD is unable to make the best use of the ample water that it receives from India. Farakka is no big issue because the water volume is too high. BD allowed all this water to fall into the Bay of Bengal and shouts at India though there is a little shortfall of water.

Teesta is not actually the same as Farakka, but here also BD has no real program to make the best of the water it receives through a single year. BD is at fault for being unable to not make the best use of the water that enters through the border.

Great people like @Black_cats are sitting in the water and power department. They do not understand the issue and blame India for their own failures.

I understand Pakistani thinking. It wants Kashmir to control the water flowing from there. It would just stop the flow and send the major part to Pakistan.

Pakistan's military has a destructive mind medieval era. But, as a result of its self-centered attitude, it is destroying the Pakistani economic and political future. Note what already is happening there.

Its military expenditure has made Pakistan a toothless tiger with or without the atomic bomb. People need their source of income to protect their livelihood. Yet, I find some people talk about war here in this forum. Their minds live in the 7th century.

The West Pakistanis dropped the ball here. They took care of themselves and left East Pakistanis hanging dry

Bangladesh has no land to build water storage facilities. How many villages will you give up for a reservoir ?

Does any reference point to any efforts being made in the 60s about a similar treaty in East Pakistan. If not the roots of the breakup were sown in the earlier neglect of East Pakistan.
