BGB Killed Indian Smuggler At Mymensingh Border

There have been reports of smugglers firing on the border of Mymensingh's Haluaghat Upazila with the Bangladesh Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). An Indian national was shot dead at the time. The identity of the deceased was not known.

BGB Mymensingh Sector 39 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Touhid Mahmud confirmed the news to media on Tuesday morning. He said, ‘Suryapur BOP BGB patrol team chased a group of smugglers late on Monday night. At the time there were gunfire between the two sides. One BGB member was injured.

Naik Subadar Obaidur Rahman of Suryapur BGB camp said, "When they chased the smugglers, they attacked the BGB members." There are shootings between the two sides. An Indian smuggler was shot dead.

BGB Mymensingh Sector 39 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Touhid Mahmud said police are working at the spot.
