Command Post Exercise (CPX) was the culminating event of this year Exercise Bright Star held at Cairo West Air Base, in Egypt. Officers representing twelve countries including Pakistan participated in the Command Post Exercise, which demonstrated how technology has become a battlefield enabler as situational awareness. The exercise was designed to simulate real-world battle scenario that each country would face and was the true test of how each coalition country executes battle drills in response to the scenario that are presented. Throughout the exercise, senior military leaders evaluated the proficiency of the combined joint task force. The evaluators then compared the execution of the battle drills by the task force to the pre-determined measures of effectiveness to determine if the desired effect was achieved. The command post exercise allowed the command cell to integrate allies from all over the world into the exercise. This style of exercise reduces expenses that are used to get personnel and equipment to exercise areas while achieving same results. Pakistan, USA, Egypt, Italy, Netherlands, France, Jordan, Britain, Greece, Kuwait and Turkey participated in the exercise. Brigadier Zahid led the seven member contingent from Army, Navy and PAF who had arrived in Cairo to participate in the Command Post Exercise. The exercise also reflected that command and control has been greatly enhanced through the use of high-tech system.
